Swiss Francs for sale

Acting on a tip from our dearly departed Harry Browne...(or at least his book)...

I've just bought around a grand worth of the most respected government currency on earth: Swiss Francs.  If anyone wants to buy some off of me give me a shout or look me up at the next event.   These are super-liquid and have been going down for the last year, down about 7% against the dollar since Jan 05, but up about 25% against it since 2002.  That makes them in my mind a  better buy than all these things that have been skyrocketing...gold, silver, etc.
I'll have a full mix of demoniations.

My asking price is currently 85 cents per franc, which is a 5% markup; I got them at 81 cents.  This offer expires on April 7 at 11:59 p.m.

Francs are not as fully backed by gold as they were in the past, however this is factored into their recent exchange rate; francs just aren't as expensive as they were a year ago.  And they're still a lot more backed than the FRN or a U.S. bank account.  And the other advantage is that you can always take them to a bank and exchange them in the future at whatever rate is applicable then.  The Franc notes tend to "earn interest" against the dollar over the long haul, just by sitting around. And they're more convenient than precious metals; all kinds of things you can do with them that you can't do with, say, silver.

Here are some historical graphs on the franc:

Franc is up by a factor of 3.3 against the dollar since 1971 and - I underestimated earlier - it is actually up by a factor of 33% since 2001 (not 25%).    But my favorite part is still the fact that it's been going down for a year.   The other traditional refuges people flee to during an inflationary cycle have gone up already. Buy low sell hi!   But we'll see.

weeee!  my little swiss francs are up six tenths of a percent since I bought them 17 days ago heh heh.

I guess that is like, what, 6% annual?

nothing wild about this ride compared to silver but at least I can say i bought them at a low point.

Dave Ridley

heh heh my francs are up at a 50% annual rate since I bought them at the low point in March

However I'm currently no longer offering them for sale.
