And to think we have some on here that admit they are leftovers from the 60's socialist dropouts yet calling themselves liberty lovers while advocating that the state guarantee rights with respect to 'economic rent' is just insane.

who admitted that?

the state's sole role is to protect the absolute individual property rights we all have to our labor (wages)

the only way to do that is to insure the economic rent that today unjustly accrues to landowners is shared equally and directly between neighbors in a community.

Quote from: CNHT on May 30, 2006, 09:50 PM NHFTDid you know the UN now owns/runs the STATUE OF LIBERTY? Sick!!!

Unfortunately, the Statue of Liberty is, and always has been, an Illuminati symbol:

Rad!! I wanted to join a secret society. And to think I was symbolizing one all along.  >:D

Caleb, I applauded you for taking the high road in this thread (unlike some others), which I will now summarize in one word:

Number One: I'm for relatively open borders. i.e. there won't be many illegals if we once again allow 'open' but controlled imigration like this nation used to have. If we completely open the borders, I think that you would find yourself in the middle of such a rapid flow of immigration, all political sovreignty and economic stability would collapse.

Number two: Do strap in, because silent running black helos are used by fairly shadowy government agencies, and I don't consider them to be on our side.

Number three: One word, "Thunderdome"

You have your open borders now

I could write an entire book in response to this statement.  Let me just say that, as a person who has spent the majority of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area, and who married a foreigner, and works (in New Hampshire) with many foreigners, the United States does NOT HAVE OPEN BORDERS.

!@#$%^(&(&

I will stop reading this thread now, before I put my fist through the screen of my laptop.

P.S. Some people clearly take their opinions on this issue quite personally. In the past five minutes, since posting on this thread, I've been smited.   Works for me, holding steady at 69 is fine by me. ;)

Thanks, Sandy.  I try to take the high road.  I don't mind teasing people, but there's no call for insults or personal attacks.

What worries me about the new proposed "solution" to the immigrant crisis isn't the "fences.  Frankly, the fence is a joke.  It's only going to guard a very small part of the border.

What worries me is the criminalizing of employers who hire immigrants ... and the realID biometric solution.

Consider the opinions that most immigrants hold about government. We'd probably quickly be overrun by international socialism.

That's not to say that I believe socialist foreign nationals shouldn't be able to live/work in this nation, but consider the implications for a bit.

Caleb

What opinions *do* most immigrants hold of government?

The ones I know are very suspicious of it.  They feel that it is inherently corrupt.  The Mexican culture is more "laid back" than ours, so they don't *do* a lot about it.

You have to remember that they come from a culture where bribing officials is expected ...

If they are so suspicious of their government, why haven't they greatly limited it's power? Just because they believe that corruption is bad, doesn't mean they disilke "good big government".
