Hi All ..

Carla Howell will speak at the MVP meeting on May 6th, 1PM at Bickfords on South Willow in Manchester.

It should be interesting because:
1. Carla Howell will speak and  she is always interesting, and
2. After she speaks there will be Q & A which, I'm sure, will be even more interesting .

See you there ..

muni .

Carla, why are you still in MA?   ;D
Oh that is a perfect question to ask. ;D

Right on. I wonder if she's one of the national lp's bigtimers that hates the fsp?

Kat Kanning

You could ask about the funds from the MA LP also.

Got any more details on that?
Funds from what? To where?

Welcome to the forum, muni! It was good to meet you at last month's MVP meeting!

I am totally bummed that I'm going to miss this, and from the tone of these questions, I doubt she'll come back a second time.   :-\

Muni, perhaps you should tip her off that she won't be getting softballs lobbed at her.

Kat Kanning

Nah, she's safe as long as JP's not there.

I think asking her to join the FSP and move to NH is not a bad question. Do you?

Anyone who says they are a libertarian should be asked that question.

If JP is there, someone should ask why he's in MA.

That's not the only potential question that has been posted in this thread.  Anyway, I know that Carla Howell has been asked about the FSP before. She has chosen not to join, which is her perogative.  Surely you're not suggesting that just because the FSP exists, and a person is a libertarian, they have some sort of obligation to move to New Hampshire?

Since she obviously can't be courting potential voters by speaking at an MVP meeting, I take her offered attendance as a sort of olive branch. From what I hear, she has been somewhat hostile to the FSP before. If you guys are nice to her, you could potentially do a lot to help the FSP's recruitment in Massachusetts. It would certainly be better to have her as a friend than an enemy.

I don't know the history of Carla and the FSP, but my first thought was that she wanted help/money/activism in MA.

I haven't heard anything good come out of the MASS LP in years. Wonder what she's been up to? Probably out there promoting her years' old anti-tax song.
