Alex Jones at least has the courage to speak out. I agree, he sometimes is loose with facts, but he is talking about things no one else has the guts to talk about.

I do cheer him for talking about important issues. He's great at that, and has a big audience.

But I was responding to those who think Jones' productions amount to conclusive proof, and who think he's the purveyor of absolute truth.

He can be really fun to listen to. Just don't make the mistake of relying on his words as Gospel.

Let's not rely on the government for gospel either.

Also, Jones gets most of his info from scholars, physicists, and other experts. Not to mention all of the confidential sources, some of which are from inside our government. So it's not like he's sitting there making this shit up. Plus, he's paints a good picture for those who can't put it together themselves. He's a liberty activist who centers on exposing the underlying conspiracies which prevent the liberty culture from seeing the light of day. Understanding 9-11, the media, the Fed and how governments use terror on their citizens is key to realizing who the real enemies of freedom are. Knowing that, it's not like we're going to take our freedom message to the corporate media, just as an example.

Alex speaks the truth, I haven't heard him say anything that isn't true.

Did you watch his video about the Cheney shotgun accident? He makes stuff up!

I recall his video about the military exercises in some Texas towns, where they practiced urban operations in abandoned or vacant buildings. He was interviewing a witness, and kept trying to get her to say the helicopters were black, and if they had any markings. She would stammer, "No, I don't know, it was dark." Finally he paraphrased her statements with "Witnesses described black helicopters without markings." Having constructed that statement out of nothing, he continued to use it as "proof".

(Personally, I don't understand the fascination with black helicopters, as if the paint job makes any difference.)

Jones is on the right side of issues, but he's rather fast and loose with "truth" and "facts".

Kevin

What exactly has Alex Jones made up can you show me some facts to back up your claim.
Every time Alex makes a claim he backs it up with documents main stream articals & or video.
So far all I have heard is accusations from you guys who don't "agree" with his analysis and commentary.

Also, Jones gets most of his info from scholars, physicists, and other experts.

He does tout degrees. But the thing about degrees, is that they don't make someone an expert in the subject at hand.

You know, like "Doctor" Laura, who uses her title while counseling people and giving psychological advice. She does have a PhD... in physiology!

I'm not going to dig through Alex Jones archives to find examples of his truth-stretching. I cited the Cheney video and black helicopter interview, and in return I was challenged to cite examples. ???

On almost every Alex Jones segment I've watched or listened to, even those where I agree with his opinion and conclusions, I find something that makes me ask, "WTF? How did he make that leap?" I don't go looking to criticise Jones; his stunts are so obvious that they really stand out.

Oh, and let me reiterate this point: I don't buy everything the government says, either. Some of the Jones fans have the same "You're either with us, or against us!" attitude that they rightly criticize in Bush and his "patriots". Whenever I find fault with Jones, it doesn't mean I'm a government apologist, nor that I believe the government's version. It's not either/or when both sides are stretching and spinning.

You made the claim that "He makes stuff up! " next time post a link to back up your claim.

I have seen those videos and I did not come away with the feeling of being misled.
Do I think Alex sensationalizes yes I do. But I do not believe he out right lies.
Alex Jones is a radio talk show host and sensationalizing is part of what they do.
I have seen the Cheney shooting analyses based on the facts given to them from the media and authorities, I don't get what you mean by making stuff up.
Do you really think the official story is true?
I am not saying there was some thing wicked happening that day while they were hunting.
Most likely they were being stupid.
But I do know that birdshot from the distance he claimed to have shot his buddy would not do the damage it did.
Either Cheney has his facts mixed up "again" or he is lying.

I'm starting to feel like this is Jonestown, where none dare question His Mightiness.

What flavor koolaid do you like, Billy?

Fluff and Stuff

Kevin, can you leave the AJ folks alone?  Yes, the vast majority of people think he is a kook, but the vast majority of people think libertarianism is the wrong path.  Why not praise AJ when he does something great, like promotes the FSP or NH, ignore him when he talks about total BS, and only tear into his ass when he talks about how all Jews or blacks should be killed (and he doesn't even talk about stuff like that)?

Like, we should not spend are time arguing over how cool AJ is or is not.  He is helping the liberty movement in NH and we should be glad for that.  Just don't point people to links on his website if you don't like him.

No Kool-Aid here, I actually look up Alex's and everyone else's claims and form my own opinion.
I don't just dismiss something because it offends my view of how things are supposed to be.
I look into what he says myself, and no I do not agree with 100% of AJ's analysis on every topic he discusses.
But I see him as a truth seeker, liberty lover & fountain of credible information.
If you have issue with Alex's approach or how he arrives to and delivers his conclusions on what ever subject.
Call his show and debate him with your perception of reality and the facts as you know them.

Please, you two, settle this like any rational Libertarian men would:
with an arm-wrestling competition at PorcFest.
Best of three determines who's got Truth on their side, results non-negotiable and hold for all eternity.

Simple.
See y'all at PorcFest :D

Thanks for the input TN-FSP.

If not for Alex Jones and his show I would never have known about the FSP and all of the great liberty loving people involved with it.
You guys & gals are good people and I am glad to be working with you to regain our lost liberties.  ;D

We all may not agree with eachothers politics all the time but we do share a common goal, smaller Government and more personal freedom.

Any other debates I have with folks like Kevin are for fun.  :P
