Mexico Works to Bar Non-Natives From Jobs

Maybe we should follow their lead.  >:(

Talk about a double standard.

MEXICO CITY (AP) - If Arnold Schwarzenegger had migrated to Mexico instead of the United States, he couldn't be a governor. If Argentina native Sergio Villanueva, firefighter hero of the Sept. 11 attacks, had moved to Tecate instead of New York, he wouldn't have been allowed on the force.

Even as Mexico presses the United States to grant unrestricted citizenship to millions of undocumented Mexican migrants, its officials at times calling U.S. policies "xenophobic," Mexico places daunting limitations on anyone born outside its territory.

In the United States, only two posts - the presidency and vice presidency - are reserved for the native born.

In Mexico, non-natives are banned from those and thousands of other jobs, even if they are legal, naturalized citizens.

Fluff and Stuff

This is nothing no and no big deal.  Let's try to free NH, the rest of NE, the rest of the US, and then Mexico in 100 years :)

America is supposed to be different. Maybe we shouldn't emulate every country whose residents come here seeking solace, just to "get back at them" or "stick it to the immigrants."

I just want them to come here legally and work like the rest of us...not live off of welfare and free medical, government loans...etc.   We need to get ALL peoples off of the government rolls.

I don't want there to be any "legal process" for getting here. If you want to be a citizen, then swear an oath to abide by the laws of this nation and announce your subjectivity to them. That's it. Otherwise, employers are free to hire and pay anybody at all that can be here, and to be here all you have to do is... come on over.

That's, of course, right up there on my list of things I'd like to see, next to abolishing each and every welfare program that currently exists.

As we have seen over the last few days alot "not all" of our uninvited guest have no respect for our laws nor do they want citizenship.

That's what we have now, but as Billly said, the ones staging the demos don't want citizenship, or to abide by laws, they want benefits and they also want to throw YOU out and 'reclaim' the land.
What will you do about that? The ones in NH are quietly here not saying that, but the ones on the border are not so willing to assimilate into our culture.

If the US is such a police state how come Canada, Germany, Italy, England do not allow unfettered movement/automatic citizenship? I think the US is the most lenient in this respect. Just ask the thousands of immigrants working here. There are lots from many other countries besides Mexico as well so they are not all of color either.

I think the argument is not about racism as the FTL clowns keep repeating without any other intellectual considerations, but more about us losing MORE of our freedoms and money to government to go to support these people.
In the southwestern states, 141 hospitals have gone out of business because they could not deny free medical care to those who could not pay.....

I don't want citizenship, because that means a duty of allegience.  Nor do I abide by inconvenient laws.  However, I do not want "benefits" (obviously, since I don't want citizenship).  Finally, if they want to throw people off land, they will likely encounter armed resistance.  Do you really think it will come to that?

Also, have you met everyone taking part in the demos?  Doubt it.  Until then, I suggest you avoid making blanket statements.

QuoteWhat will you do about that? The ones in NH are quietly here not saying that, but the ones on the border are not so willing to assimilate into our culture.
What "culture"?  Can you define that?  Or do you just know it when you see it?

So... you want us to be more like those countries?  No thanks, I like freedom of movement.

QuoteI think the argument is not about racism as the FTL clowns keep repeating without any other intellectual considerations, but more about us losing MORE of our freedoms and money to government to go to support these people.
If you'd actually listen to us instead of attacking us with ad hominems you would know that we advocate ending welfare entirely and opening the borders.  That means less government, and more freedom.  Your plan equals more government and less freedom.

In a free America, hostpitals would not be forced by law to take anyone.  The charity wing would handle cases on a voluntarily contributed basis.

What's wrong with that?

I understand FTL's arguments regarding immigration as I am totally in favor of getting the gov out of my life. But, the bottom line is that a good portion of these immigrants do favor reclaiming the SW US as their own. This is not the nature of freedom-loving people trying to excape tyranny. They play the culture game and stick together accordingly. I can't deny that they are hardworkers overall. But everytime they hold rallies they wave their flag plus that of La Raza, which is a racist pro-mexican only organization. This front organization that is a major proponent of amnesty for illegals and organizes them to demand their programs and all else. These are only pro-freedom people when it suits them (their issue only). When was the last time we saw a Latino group favoring less taxation and gun rights. I don't wish for them to be stuck in their country of misery, but I won't stick my neck out for them until I've seen some real pro-freedom lip service.

They are too busy working, the same reason why it's hard to get Libertarians to show up at events.

Anyway, I'm not "sticking my neck out" for them.  I'm standing up for principle and Liberty.  Even if there are some that want to retake the SW US, let them try!  California is awash in socialism already, they can have it.  Besides, I highly doubt these guys are going to be able to go house to house and take back those states by force and numbers.

I don't care who they are and what they want, I do not support a police state to handle the "problem", and that's all that the xenophobes are putting on the table to deal with it.

If your property is being "invaded", you have a right to defend it.  You also have a right to form a militia to protect your precious government, so to the xenophobes, I say put up or shut up.  But don't ask me to support your big government programs.

(Note, I'm not addressing FSP-Rebel with my "you" and "your", but the xenophobes, so no one is confused.)

From the 2000 Census mexicans represent 7.3% of the United States population, if you consider that only 10% of mexicans in the US hold such strong anti-american sentiment that makes up about 0.7% of the US population. I'd say that's a very small minority and there isn't much they can do in terms of a violent revolt to invade the southwest quarter of the united states. It's preposterous to think that there is an imminent threat there!

Exactly, that is why it's being manipulated and funded by globalists like Soros to get people to accept things like Real ID.

Lex

What specifically is being manipulated and funded?
