As for marijuana, that is quite common in Keene.

Of course it is :)  NH has the highest rate of pot useage in the nation and Keene is a college town and you know how us college kids are  ::)

Meth has become popular because it's dirt cheap, easy to make with grocery store ingredients and a recipe from the internet, and highly addictive.

It's most popular in the South and Southwest because it's almost always made in cottage industry batches. Because of the distinctive smell, it requires a lot of space, to dilute the smell and keep police from literally sniffing out the lab.

The end product is highly variable. Users aren't very discriminating, given the desperate nature of their addiction.

I support elimination of all drug laws, in part because it would reduce the danger of drugs like meth. If it was commercially produced with consistency, it would be safer.

If it were legal, I bet it wouldn't be produced at all, except by people to feed their addictions. Who would opt for meth when there are a host of other legal drugs?

It makes you grind your teeth until theyre mangled and rotten.

Yes, highest drinking rate also.  I wonder if that is why it is rated the 1st or 2nd healthest state  ::)

There's a balance between the north (all unhealthy drinkers with french canadian genes that keep them spry and skinny despite being chain smokers)

And the cosmopolitan south (a suburb of Boston, one of America's largest cities)

That's disappointing.  Here I was all excited to be getting away from all the hippie potheads in Seattle.  God, do I loathe stoners.

Dreepa

I haven't noticed much drug use.  Then again I do live out in the country. ;D

That's not very fair.  Pot smokers are not all "hippies" nor "potheads".  Pot smokers span from the elite down to the trailer trash.  From doctors to construction workers.

There are probably many people you know and respect who smoke pot.

In Indiana a little girl was murdered because she walked in on a meth lab.

If the manufacture of drugs were legal, that little girl would be alive today.

NH doesn't have any big cities like Seattle, so you will.

There aren't many hippies here. They're all in major cities.

Have you ever been to VT ???  There are hippes in VT and the largest city is like 40,000.  Hell, I've seen more hippies in VT than TN.  But I agree with you, I have never seen a hippie in NH.  The vast majority of current or former pot smokers (like 1/2 of people b/t the ages of 15-60) are not hippes, anyway.

Not sure what "fair" has to do with it.  It's not fair to make character judgements based on voluntary use of a drug that makes you stupid?

I prefer not to associate with druggies.  I reserve the right to judge people who make what I think are bad decisions.  Marijuana is a bad decision.

Pot does not make people stupid.  However, red wine, beer, and other drinks have been shown to cause such problems.

Might I ask why you think that "marijuana makes you stupid"?

Thanks for judging me and every other smart pot smoker you've never met.  If I actually cared about what you thought of me, I might be a little offended.
