Hi everyone, I'm wanting to respond to the senator who I emailed about the seatbelt legislation. I am unsure of whether to even send this....I'm thinking it could either incite him into further fanatic behavior or...it could knock a little confidence out of him, make him unsure of himself. Since he is a democrat, it would probably do the former.....should I just keep the element of surprise and save it till Thursday?

With all due respect Senator, when you say we should "encourage" drivers to buckle up, I agree with you.
When your definition of "encouragement" equals legislation, I strongly disagree and I emphasize the word strongly.
If what you wrote in your email is the fundamental foundation of your argument, it seems to me that you feel for whatever reason; the government has the right to dictate my ability to make a decision as a responsible adult.
As for increased health insurance, perhaps if a visit to the doctor for an aspirin and a throat culture didn't cost upwards of $200.00, our insurance prices wouldn't be so high. As I'm sure you are aware, this is one of numerous scenarios.
I feel very strongly that the government has a definitive and strict role in society. In uncountable instances government has well overstepped its intended boundaries.
This legislation is another example of boundaries well overstepped.
I don't know what has gone on up in Concord in the past but I can assure you that I'm paying very close attention from now on.
I will be speaking in opposition to this proposed legislation as it decimates the very definition of the word liberty.
You, Senator have sworn an oath to the people of the state of New Hampshire to uphold the constitution. I don't understand how you feel the proposal of this bill is even ethical.
Know this, you are all being highly scrutinized and the sanctity of Liberty is being watched over by those who truly respect it.
I'm done sitting back while those elected to represent myself and my fellow citizens are on a rampage against freedom.

Sincerely, Suzanne Hudson

I would send it. Maybe evend rewrite it a little and turn it into a leter to the editor. How about CC's to his cronies on the Transportation committee?

Unfortuneately what I have found, with few exceptions, is today politician goes with the tide. Everything seems to be based on "public opinion" of which the freddom grabbers have somewhat of a monopoly. Until they realize that the people are sick of the games they play it will not stop.

Thanks for the input guys. See, I've written letters to the editors...they won't publish them. Especially Fosters. I'm testifying before the committee hearing this thursday regarding this bill.

Any local "free" papers around your area? We have one in town the Londonderry Times they have printed all my letters. The smaller papers seem to be more letter friendly.

The party should pick a color.? The Ukranians stole Dean's Orange.? Wear that color with a plastic raincoat and hat and big hipwaders with suspenders so you are truly "buckled in" to prevent slime and crap from being thrown at you by that group of pols.? I think it might be worth considering in the future testimonies down the road at the leg. body.?
What "party" are you talking about?
I like the idea of being prepared for the testimonies in that way....sounds like a blast....don't forget your seatbelt for safety 8)

Many of our guys are successful getting letters to the major papers in NH...maybe they can help you get published.
