From what I read on this amendment, it doesn?t actually outlaw flag burning? It just opens up the door to allow states to outlaw it should they choose.

After all until the Supreme Court took away states rights 48 states actually already did have laws on the books against flag burning.

I'm surprised, anti-flag burning laws seem to be flagrantly against the 1st Amendment unless people intend on using those burning flags as weapons or something like that.
