It looks like flatland, so it wasnt filmed anywhere up here. I dont recognize it, but it sure looks like northeast USA to me.

Was it filmed in or set in NH/

IMDb lists "New Hampshire, USA" as the only filming location.

Looked like Just Another Indy. The trailer is not sufficient evidence to judge. The police car has "Rutland" on the door... there is no Rutland, NH. Rutland, VT, mebbe?

Rutland VT is.. I guess kind of near NH

Actually it's much closer to NY/central VT.

you have to purchase a used police car for the scene...might as well leave "Rutland" on it rather than purchase one from a NH town and run into problems or have to paint it.

It's an unwritten rule in fiction that when the story takes place in a small town, you make up the town. Movies take place either in a real life city, or a made up small-town. It's never a pretend city or a real town.

tracysaboe

all of the X-File episodes took place a real small towns.

Supernatural episodes usually take place in real small towns. Blue Earth, MN is a real town. I hit a dear just outside of there.

Anyway,

Obviously there are bound to be exceptions, but as a general rule the small towns in fictional movies and tv shows are made up, unless it's based on a true story. If you're making a work of fiction, it's easiest to make the location fictional also, otherwise you kind of defeat the purpose. You end up with a movie that takes place in a real town, only it ends up being a fictional version of the real town anyway...

Also it's easy for an audience watching a movie to imagine the little town exists, whereas with a make believe big entire city, the movie ends up taking place in some weird alternate reality where a huge city exists that isn't there in real life and it ends up being weird and silly. It only really works for fantasy movies that are taking place in an alternate reality anyway.

The only point to my post was that the town written on the police car was probably just the name of a fictional town they made up for the movie.

What is the movie supposed to be about? Certainly not the FSP...just looked like a bunch of thugs swearing and causing trouble to me. Too bad they have to link it with NH.

According to the iMDB messageboard, it was filmed partly in Claremont and Newport.

From the messageboard: "I just happened to be able to help on this movie a little while they were filming up here. I live in the Sunapee area, and actually do a lot of work for the gentleman that owns the storage units that much of the movie is based at. They also did filming at "The Pines" restaurant in Newport (the kitchen really IS that gross), and some back roads in Claremont (causing a few accidents due to the horrible weather). I was especially happy to see how friendly Paul and Zooey were, and how they took some time to chat with my daughter and I during the shooting of the film. As the saying here in NH goes, if you don't like the weather here, wait an hour and it will change... when they started to film it was 50 degrees, then it dropped to the 20's and 30's, and they still had to act in the clothing they were wearing in the 50 degree weather to make it match. I felt so bad for them! But I'm sure they were compensated!"
