I'd like a copwatch credential, it can say something like:

Keene Free Press
Lauren Canario
Copwatch

Kat Kanning

The FSP lanyards, should anyone want one, can be purchased here:

I made up press passes for Lauren, Toby, Ian and Julia.  Let me know if anyone else wants one.

I haven't noticed anyone talking about cheap cameras so I'll speak up. I ain't in the Free State yet so knock me all ya want ;). Due to lots of previous expensive cameras falling into rivers and off of cliffs I now buy inexpensive disposable digital camcorders, even though my fucking government charges me GST when I order from Yankee land. I picked up a few in Minnesota. If any problems occur in Filth Watch, such as a camera being taken by the Filth, you may not want them to get their grubby paws on a $500 camera. I know CVS pharmacy in the Midewest sells disposables for $30, you can then drop them off and spend $13 for each DVD, the quality is good, not HD but big deal. You can get about 20 to 30 minutes of video. I saw some Sony eye candy in Japan but everything takes a stone age to get over here. I have only heard of the Pure Digital camera.

Reusing the disposable, I have not tried this yet.

Police Stun Gun Kills Teen With Bible

Associated Press | October 31, 2006

A teenager carrying a Bible and shouting "I want Jesus" was shot twice with a police stun gun and later died at a St. Louis hospital, authorities said.

In a statement obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press, police in Jerseyville, about 40 miles north of St. Louis, said 17-year-old Roger Holyfield would not acknowledge officers who approached him and he continued yelling, "I want Jesus."

Police tried to calm the teen, but Holyfield became combative, according to the statement. Officers fired the stun gun at him after he ignored their warnings, then fired again when he continued struggling, police said.

Holyfield was flown to St. Louis' Cardinal Glennon Hospital after the confrontation Saturday; he died there Sunday, police said.

An autopsy was planned for Tuesday.

The statement expressed sympathy to Holyfield's family but said city and police officials would not discuss the matter further.

Calls Tuesday to Jerseyville Police Chief Brad Blackorby were not immediately returned. The department has been using stun guns for about five months, according to the statement.

In a report released in March, international human rights group Amnesty International said it had logged at least 156 deaths across the country in the previous five years related to police stun guns.

The rise in deaths accompanies a marked increase in the number of U.S. law enforcement agencies employing devices made by Taser International Inc. of Scottsdale, Ariz. About 1,000 of the nation's 18,000 police agencies used Tasers in 2001; more than 7,000 departments had them last year, according to a government study.

Police had used Tasers more than 70,000 times as of last year, Congress' Government Accountability Office said.

Amnesty International has urged police departments to suspend the use of Tasers pending more study. Taser International said the group's count was flawed and falsely linked deaths to Taser use when there has been no such official conclusion.

The city of St. Louis also drew unwanted attention for crime this week when it was named the most dangerous U.S. city by Morgan Quitno Press. The ranking looked only at crime within St. Louis city limits, not its metro area.

We're so sorry we tasered your son to death for no good reason.

Walking around holding a bible is apparently quite dangerous.  Russell got arrested doing that.

Using a cellphone connection for data is expensive and slow, but should be fine for audio if the crew is not near a wi-fi hotspot. We can then get the video uploaded later, but we'd have audio evidence uploaded to the web where it cannot physically be confiscated.

Wireless Broadband is only $60/Month and available in most areas that have cell reception.

Cop Watch!   I love it.

I guess there were/are some 'patriots' in Indiana who have been harrasing the cops by not "handing" over their license.  They hold the license up to the window, which is rolled up.  Apparently it's legal for them to do that.  They also get as much personal info from the cop as possible.  I'm assuming they're building a database of cops just like the cops do to us?  Sounds like a good idea to me.

Scanners, camcorders and audio recorders are something everyone should have in their car.  If things fall into place, I may be able to move to NH sooner than expected.  Definitely count me in on this...

Don't forget Porc-411. :) Dial up 413-0411, wait for the beep, surreptitiously put your cell phone on speakerphone, and do a silent (or loud!) protest. Or just gaze at some nearby cops. Your call will be recorded and the recording e-mailed to a whole bunch of Undergrounders. (The email signup link is somewhere earlier in this thread.)

The number is being used a LOT less than I'd originally anticipated. If it continues being used a LOT less than I'd originally anticipated, I may have to change the number. This would really suck, since I like the "411" part.

Quantrill

Are people using that number at the protests? No cops out there?

Maybe Dada could dial up when he's doing silent demo's.  I'd love to hear what the people around him say when he does that!

error

Absolutely. I'd love to hear (see, but that comes later) what's going on around Dada when he does a silent protest!

Has anyone contacted the NH chapter of the National Motorists Association?http://www.motorists.org/states/newhampshire/nhfacts.html

NH-specific traffic laws, speedtraps listed by city, fighting your ticket, etc...   Maybe we could even get them to link to nhfree or fsp.com ?

When I move to NH if noone else has, then sure...
