Who cares?

There are three threads all about the LP's gutting of the platform... uhmmm again who cares?

If the people in the LP are truly giving up their principles then that is one thing... but it is a platform.

**Disclaimer** I haven't read the new platform nor do I care to. I will still vote for the LP member if they are running.

/prepares for shitstorm

toowm

So why start another thread? ???

Well Frank is using this to justify the LP saying all taxation is theft. Hey, theft is when your money is taken from you when you don't want it to be....
So I guess it's up to the one having it taken if they think it's theft.

both Jason, the founder of the LP (David Nolan) and the RLC believe that some taxes are less onerous than others (that was the essence of my question to Jason at the Porcfest if you remember)

Carl Milsted, the founder of the RLC is a self-avowed Georgist...so he obviously thinks that a land value tax actually PREVENTS a theft!

RLC? Who are they?

All taxes are onerous. Period.

Bill,

If the use of 3-D space is a requirement for existence, it is morally reprehensible to charge me a "fee" in the form of a tax for using something that I require for my existence.  The power to tax is the power to destroy, no?

the "fee" is paid to those you are excluding because the very fact that you are entitled (via government granted privilege) to exclusive use of a specific location forces a legal and monetary obligation on them that can only come at the expense of their ABSOLUTE right to their labor and thsu right of self-ownership itself.

now try and wrap your head around this koan little grasshopper...

the requirement of those doing the excluding to share the economic rent equally and directly does NOT violate their ABSOLUTE right to their labor products because the landowner's labor does NOT produce the economic rent...

this is called "seeing the cat" in geo-land!

do you see the cat?

Seems to me the thing to do would be to eliminate the government granted privilege, not institutionalize it by legitimizing the theft.  If we do away with the guvment, then there won't be any guvment granted privilege.  :)

Right on, Caleb. Frank wants to replace one authority with another. Let's just eliminate the authorities all together and have some FREEDOM.

And worse yet, Frank wants to BE that authority!
