The guy who was in charge on Thursday came by after all the other guys had left with Russell...apparently just to chat with me.

Actions speak louder than words.

He wanted to convince me that they weren't the bad guys.

Actually, all Federal LEOs are "Homeland Security", as I understand it.

It's all becoming one massive body of police. Local cops are becoming militarized and the feds are involved in everything these days. We must strike the root.

Not at all.

Homeland Security is a department. Department of Justice is a different department. Each is under a cabinet officer (Director of Homeland Security, and the Attorney General), and both have LEO agencies.

DHS has Customs & Border Patrol; ICE; TSA; Coast Guard; and Secret Service.

DoJ has FBI; U.S. Marshals; Bureau of Prisons; DEA; and BATFE. None of this fall under DHS.
