Well, how about it?  Any ideas?

Annoying the police has worked from time to time, but you're depending upon their mercy. For this, you need a massive army of phone-dialers or a stealthy clan of people who yell at figureheads.

Harassment of the PD is probably your best bet, as targeting an institution (slavedrivers) as opposed to individuals tends to allow more lenience.

Or you can always do the old nailfile-in-the-pie routine.

Russell seems to be doing quite a lot with only one person.  Don't be fooled that you need hundreds of helpers with you to effect change.  You can do it yourself!  He chose this particular path because it could be done with just one person.

In looking at ways to make dramatic change in the course of the country, there are indeed two general paths, one violent and one non-violent.  Violence makes the state stronger.  It gives them the legitimacy they need to crack down more.

The non-violent approach forces the state to show itself as an agent of violence and force.  It de-legitimizes them.  But, it takes phenominal bravery to willingly take the punishment of the state.  When the non-violent approach is used, the state is put in a quandry:  either back down or respond with excessive force.  Either way is a loss for them (although to be honest, backing down is the superior path for them).  With each instance of arrest and government over-reaction, marginal supporters are transformed into active members of the movement.  Gandhi and Martin Luther King didn't start out with thousands of people supporting their efforts.  The state handed them those supporters with each over-reaction.

Non-violence is the more effective avenue.  It is the morally superior avenue.  War is the health of the state.  I want to see a society based on exclusively voluntary interactions, so I'm not going to use force to get there.

Awesome!  Well written, Kat.  Russell is the bravest man I've ever seen.

No sane adult can choose violence when the veil of legitimacy is lifted from government.  People just haven't been given an honest choice:

Government Violence or the Voluntary Free Market

We're going to give them that choice.

Getting his story printed in the big papers would be good. Even if it couldn't be front page.
Kat if you get interviewed make sure they print the prison's contact info. and urge people to call and write.

You've clearly never been interviewed.  You can't be sure they print anything.   ;)  You can give them info and ask nicely, but that's about it.

I've been interviewed a few times. I've specifically asked that something be printed once and Edith Tucker, the woman who works at the Democrat, was nice enough to print it.

Guess things just work different in the north country.

Thank you, I have to keep being reminded I live in FL, and things are totally different up there.

It's going to be weird knowing my neighbors.

How about having neighbors ALL over the state? That feels great!

It's an unusual feeling, dealing with people in NH.  Everyone is very friendly and customer service oriented.  I've found myself surprised at some little things that businesspeople in NH have done for me, that I did not expect at all.

I can already tell from 1500 miles away that things are very different in a positive way up there.

Another unusual feeling you'll have to get used to: Bug and Sun lotions.
Sounds to me like you might actually leave your house.

Just do what they did with Steve Kubby. Ian, you probably know how to contact him and/or his wife. Find out what they have to say, having experience in this matter and all.

If Russell is fasting, I will fast with him.

More important than doing something to help Russell is to do something for freedom.  The feds torture people.  They kill innocents.  They do not abide by their own laws (the constitution).  I think they have left the realm of legitimate government.  They are more like the mafia, imposing their will on us.  Russell believes it imperative that we refuse to cooperate with this evil.  Several people do not like how Russell went about it.  What are other ways?  What can you do?  Is there some thing you can do to resist this evil?  It doesn't have to be big.  It needn't require anyone but yourself, where ever you are.  It doesn't need to involve being arrested.  What can you do?

Ideas?
