the bush-as-hitler thing is going over like a lead balloon just so you know.   Even I think it's overkill.

I'd say ditch or replace the bush + hitler imagery .  maybe use a different part of the flyer that where it says quit your job

Will these be handouts or signs? They are so much better than what the rest of us can scribble up. Can we show up empty-handed?

Cathleen

I've made a couple of signs, you can see the designs in the gallery.

If you want one let me know which design you want.

I could make the 'Flyers don't kill...' as a handout. 8.25 x 11 sound good?

As far as the rally goes flags or other visual devises are good. I think we'll have a cowbell  ;D

Anything else folks feel is appropriate. Let's get a nice photo for Russell's later amusement.

Just saw Daves input, perhaps I should use the back of the flyer. Not as graphical, but it is certainly softer.

I have a little time so people give me your feedback for the flyer. :)

Leaving for Keene now.
Later gator.

I got a call from the sheriff this morning.  He told me that he was told that the following ordinance and RSA require you to have a license to have a public gathering.  He said that he will have a couple deputies there.  I don't think that the ordinance applies to this situation, based on its wording, but I will try to contact the board about getting a license anyway.

I've thought it over and plan to continue the rally no matter what they say.  For something that's so clearly within our rights, I don't want to give in to them.  We've protested in cities all over NH and never had a permit to do so.  We don't need their permission to do what is our right.  I'll go alone, if need be, but I will stand there with a sign.

TackleTheWorld

Thanks for the info DoL.
But I like that part of the bill of rights where people have the right to peacefully assemble.
If you have to ask permission, it's not a right anymore, and I wan't it back.
I'm with ya Kat!

"Masssa, may I please have a permit?"

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Yeah, that ordinance is so blatantly unconstitutional.  I plan to be there to videotape the goings-on.

Dear law enforcement officers, please enforce the following laws.

[Art.] 33. [Excessive Bail, Fines, and Punishments Prohibited.] No magistrate, or court of law, shall demand excessive bail or sureties, impose excessive fines, or inflict cruel or unusual punishments.

I just talked with Dover's chief of police, and he said that as long as nobody is protesting in the street, no permit is required.  I then called the sheriff and told him what the chief said, and he said that they were thinking of cordoning off an area in front of the jail that we could use without having to worry about getting harassed by govt agents.  He asked me if that would work for us.  I told him that it probably would, but I would have to check with you folks first.  How's that sound?

Tom Sawyer

Great job...

I think that they don't realize that we haven't been able to find out what is happening to our friend who is locked in their cage.

All I can say is "more cowbell".

FTL_Ian

I question it.  They will cordone off an area as far away from passersby as possible.   >:(

Recumbent ReCycler

It's not exactly a high traffic area anyway.  It's kind of out in the countryside.  The sheriff told me that he will probably give us the sidewalk near the entrance.  I will discuss it with him again later.  I'm sure he will work with me on getting a decent area.  He's more reasonable than most of the other LEOs in the area.  I've known him for several years, and supported his last 2 election campaigns.  I think he's as close to being an ally as we will get in the local law enforcement community.

Tom Sawyer

Our friend will not be ignored or forgotten.

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Modified the flyer idea...
Is this good... would we want anything else on it or do it differently? There is also the back we could do something with.

I need to get this done this soon, to have time to print etc.

Got to get back to the paying gigs right now. ;)
