first v for vendetta, now i'm watching the firefly series. im about  episodes in, and i already love it - even more the the movie.

Ya, the Firefly series is really good.  Much better than the movie in fact.  They should have stuck with the style of the series to give people a better idea of what they were missing instead of the Cyberpunk/Aeon Flux meets Road Warrior style they went for.

so i've now finished the series and watched the movie again. im so addicted!! bring back firefly!! how the hell could they cancel such a great tv show when there is so much shit on tv? most of the stuff on television is mind-numbing garbage. i guess people like that sort of thing. helps them ignore their intrusive government.

They cancelled it because it got low rating (= less money). You can't blame them for following the rules of the marketplace.

There was a lot of mismanagement on Fox's part though. They would change the time it was on everyweek. They've skip weeks here and there. They didn't show then in the original order. etc.

A lot of good shows onFox have died, because of that sort of mismanagement. If it had been on at a consistant time it likely would have gathered a following. But it only lasted half a season, because people that wanted to watch it couldn't even figure out what time it was on!

Yeah you are right about Fox. Their shows hardly ever take off because they never give their shows a chance to gain a following. If a show isn't getting the number 1 ratings after 4-5 episodes, they give up. It's not uncommon for them to cancell new shows after 3-4 episodes, it's ridiculous. Give the show a chance to grow, for christs sakes. Thing is Fox often pick up really good pilots. Every pilot season Fox launches some really promising new shows, which makes it all the more dissapointing when they get cancelled after 5 episodes.

I only got to see a few episodes right before I saw the movie and I loved them.  I happen to like Jos a lot, he does great characters and humor.  One of these days I'm going to borrow SOMEones DVDs of the series so I can watch it all.  I know about 5 people have it and they have all offered to let me borrow it, I just forget to ask them about it later. ^_^

i thought i made it clear that i am disappointed with the audience for watching trash, not necessarily the network for cancelling the show.
