;DLittle signs with porcupines!!? Sounds like part of John's NH song!!

Go for it Russell- since I am sure you guys will be one of the first ones here, thankfully!, go ahead and post 'em!
I was thinking something permanent.....but we could put a couple of paper plate signs with a little brown friendly porcupine up (1 at the top of the hill 1 at your driveway)....maybe your girls should draw them :D

Margot Keyes

:DPermanent sounds like fun, but I know in MN there were limits on how long you could post a sign that wasn't regulation. There was this beautiful home with FIVE ACRES of IRISES and PEONIES that hosted tours and sold them from a website NOT onsite. They were only allowed to post their sign for 2 weeks at a time, then off for two before posting again. SOOOOOOOO incredibly stupid since their bloom time was only about 3-4 weeks, so they lost have their advertising time.....anyway.
Paper plates or rolls of paper could be fun for the girls to have something to do on these snowy- home from school- days!

Thanks for the tip, settling in to this dad role eh?

Cheers!

Hey guys - requesting feedback here.

Is there a "master list" or otherwise organization method for knowing when folks arrive so we can know who all to bestow gifts upon?? I received some lovely lasagnas and other food items and a whole bag of goodies (tons for the kids too!) from our last host and his girlfriend at OUR meet and greet. now it is my turn to play hostess, I would like to make sure I have some gifts to shower on the newbies.  Dave? Kat? Can you guys help me out here?? It seems like there are new folks everyday on my e-mail saying THEY just moved so I want to make sure to include everybody.

Thanks for any help!

Margot

No master list.  Oftentimes, people just suddenly show up and tell us 'we've moved'!  We really have no way of knowing who's here except from meeting lists and people updating their addresses/info on the FSP website.  If you want to try and keep a master list, I'm sure Dave and Joel and I can help you out by sending any info we get.

Hey Margot...Expect I must agree with Kat on this one.  No organized way, just whenever someone is coming to visit, or moving in, we try and do our best to welcome them.

I know I just say Hey! and someone just seems to step forward, we get together somewhere, somehow, and the new folks seem to think we are ok :), and want to come play with us! ;D

Remember you and Bradley's 3 to 5 year plan! :D

I've invited pretty much everyone I can think of to your house! ;D  Thinking if you just be your bubbly self, we will all have a great time, and perhaps encourage a few new folks to make NH home, and let the new folks know their move here was a wise decision! ;)

Russell Kanning

People usually don't tell us way in advance when they are visiting/moving, so we just do what Dave said.
If they do tell us ahead of time, then we just have more time to plan and have much better parties. :D

Margot Keyes

:DWell, okey doke folks. I just want to make sure everyone is as welcome as you guys all made us feel !! :)

I expect that this will all be casual at first, but maybe I can form a "Free State Ambassadors" group eventually, to help give everyone who moves a meal and maybe some NH-oriented goodies or contacts and information- whatever!  i just want to help, and that is my passion (hence the greeter coordinator job...).
So thanks and we are set for Saturday - see you all then!
Dave- the more the merrier, people, kids, pets - they are ALL comin'!!

CHeers!
Margot

It would make sense to keep pushing the welcome wagon idea further and further, so people really feel welcome. We still have people sneaking into the state, that didn't know we were ready to help. I kind of like keeping the "Welcome Wagon" name, but we could just add more functions to it. :) Ambassadors sounds more like a NH FSP resident visiting places outside of NH. Maybe we need to have an official ambassador to Killington. Set up an office and people can seek political asylum with NH and the FSP ;D

But, then, one of us would have to spend all of their time in.........ugh!....Vermont!

Russell Kanning

I think we might have a person or 2 already near Killington

Sleeping bags?!?
