Please forgive my noobian indulgence, but is there some way to delete the "time logged in" banner from the top of these boards? I only registered here last week and now I have this data constantly winking at me saying how pathetic my life truly is!

Having thoroughly tainted the question with bias, do any folks here like this feature?

I've never paid any attention to it. I had to go looking for it to see it.

Mine reads: "5 days, 12 hours and 58 minutes."

So... Kevin... here's your official "You suck!!"

;D

I do sort of live on the forum... but if the server's not in NH, it doesn't count.

Delving deeper into the topic, it seems the boards top "time logged on" member is somewhat of an enigma.

I don't know what you think, but it seems to me like someone logged on for an average of about seven hours a day for the past 600 some days might be expected to have made more than 20 posts!

Weird!

I'm just sayin' . . .

You can always log off from the forums every time you're done. Then it will stay a small number  :)

I think it just registers the ammount of you you actually are logged in and have your browser open to the page.

No... it's logging the time your PHP sessions have been active.
When you login there's a drop-list menu, you can pick 30 minutes, 1 hours, etc., up to "forever".
I beleive that "forever" itself times out (confugurable by whoever has admin privs), but also sets a non-expiring cookie in your browser, so even after the auto-logout, next time you refresh a page, you automatically re-login and reset the timer.

See what would I do with-out Dennis.
