Russell, what do you hope to accomplish by this browbeating you've been giving Kevin over the past few weeks (maybe longer, I haven't noticed it until recently)?
hitting him with reality :)
He spends time telling us what to do ... while he lives off of people's tax money.

Quote"Taxation is theft" is a more universal message

it should be "the income tax is the moral equivalent of theft and funds torture"
That would look great on a sign. How many would we have to hold next to each other?

Just an observation... the big emphasis on "taxes fund torture" undoubtedly gets big waves and honks from the socialists who would rather use those taxes (and more) to fund social programs instead of military programs. Your signs imply that "funding torture" is your only objection to taxes. I know that's not true, because you object on other levels, too.

"Taxation is theft" is a more universal message.

Cheers to you for braving the cold to wave signs!

Kevin

You could hold up signs right next to the torture ones that say "Taxation funds preborn baby murder"

Then you'd get honks from both sides (or both sides would hate you)

money dollars

I should come with a sign that says:

Honk If
You're
Horny

-or-

Protesting
Sucks

To give you a sense of what the 1992 HoHo con was like, the flyer circulated on Usenet at the time had this lovely quotation, "Let us arise, let us arise against the oppressors of humanity; all kings,  emperors, presidents of republics, priests of all religions are the true  enemies of the people; let us destroy along with them all juridical,  political, civil and religious institutions."  -Manifesto of anarchists in the Romagna, 1878.

Karma for remembering HoHoCon. I was much too drunk or in jail, I can't remember which.

There were two types of shirts at the early HoHo Cons part of this excellent contest.  One shirt had the slogan, "I found the fed!"  It was given out to anyone who correctly identified and publicly outed a federal agent at the convention.  The other type had the slogan, "I am the fed!"  It was given to the publicly outed federal agent, who was required by convention staff to wear the shirt, or he'd be evicted from the conference.  Well, that's how I recall it.  I do admit that I consumed rather a lot more alcohol in my salad days, when I was green in judgement (and often green around the gills from drink).

This still goes on at DefCon every year.

Then how about:

IMORAL
INCOME TAX =
THEFT & TORTURE
