Hey Rochelle, totally OT, but I just checked your blog and saw:
Quote from: RochelleI decided on Tuesday to just screw trying to find a job in Wichita and just move to New Hampshire...

Awesome!!
Do you have an ETA in the Free State?
Have you signed the First1000 pledge?

Rochelle

hehe, yea I"m #17 on the first1000 pledge, so yea, I'm signed up ;)

My original ETA was to leave on Sept. 15 and arrive in NH on Sept. 17. The idea behind this was that no one in Wichita was calling me back about the jobs I applied for and job hunting in NH is a little difficult when you're not there, so I figured I'd just screw it and leave for NH and try my luck on the scene. Then the very next day, I got a call from Target, where I'd applied and three weeks after the original phone interview. The gist of the call was that they aren't sure if there are openings in the Wichita area but since I was interested in relocating to NH (I told them that I had applied for the same position in NH and KS) they would see if there are any openings in the Boston area. There are about a million Targets in the Boston area, so I'm hoping I have luck :)

The only problem is it might take more than a week for them to call :( I hope it doesn't and that I can keep my original schedule. So if any of you shop at Target, try to get an Executive Team Lead to quit ;)
(okay fine, I'm kidding...)

Back on topic...you know, the 18-21 year old segment CAN vote...

There is a target in Manchester and in Concord as well.

I think that the state run liquor stores will be a tough fight.  That is where the state gets a lot of their money. Hell trying to keep an income tax out of NH will be a big fight in the next 2 years.

Very true.
Everyone that's pissed bout the republicans selling up the river about Real-ID, better be prepared for the mother of all battles over taxes next year if (when) the Dems come to power.... <shudder>

Rochelle

I didn't know about the one in Keene, I knew about one in Salem, Hookset, Bedford (Manchester area these two) and Nashua. Maybe there are more than I thought :)

Keeping the amount of government increasing is going to be a tough fight in the next two years, period. I don't see how they can get more money from running the liquor stores than they could by just plain taxing the liquor. If they just tax it, they don't have to purchase it, pay employees, maintain stores, etc. At the very least, we could try getting the drinking age lowered to 18...everything in small steps :)
