Welcome to our home, and help welcome us recent expatriates from Minnesota. The party starts around 4pm on Saturday September 23rd and ends when it ends.

Here's the skinny--74a North Rd (Hwy 107) in Deerfield, NH right by the the Mr Mikes on Rt 43 and Rt 107 crossroads. Bring yourselves, all your anti-government friends and perhaps some food and drinks to pass; we'll provide the basics. We're on a small lake (Freeses Pond), so feel free to bring your canoe or kayak if you're so inclined to launch off the shore. We'll have a fire going late in to the evening, so prepare accordingly. We have room for camping; not as much as PorcFest, but enough :) Carpool as much as possible, but we have plenty of parking for a large event. Come one, come all!

Mapquest et al don't accurately locate the place. They do get pretty close though.
On the attached picture/map, the blue 'R' is my house. The red lines are dirt/gravel roads.

Also note that because of Otis, this will likely not be kid friendly.

We do have an unmetered well  :)
The well water was tested and is good stuff.

Swimming in the lake is fine (been there, done that) but only Otis drinks the lake water.

Yes I have a private well also. I am having it tested ASAP. What with the unusual amount of rain we had, it is possible that Giardia could have crept into someone's well that is normally clear. I don't think I got it camping else 400 others would have had at least one other person who became sick. I did not drink from any streams, just the faucets they had there which are from wells.

I suspect if it is Giardia, it was from food. Doc said he had a case last week.
Seeing as it's been so hot, lots of rain, and this is Canada Goose season (they are carriers) it is wise to NOT swallow any lake water.

We'll have enough to drink; no one should have to resort to drinking the lake water.

Indeed indeed! I just meant if I knock their canoe over in a friendly spirit...and they fall into the water.. LOL

Stark's Revenge? "Don't drink the goose crap!"

Yet another reason we should invade Canada.  ;D

This is worse than that. This will take over your alimentary canal and close up your throat, rather than open up anything else.

HEY!  Continplating breakfast over here!

I'm not kidding. That had to be the scariest symptom. I was living in fear for the last 4 weeks wondering why I could not swallow....finally after two days on the meds, the throat opened up. It also makes it easier to take the meds, which taste like Drano...

So if you guys decided to go canoeing in Deerfield (I wish I hadn't traded mine for a rifle...) don't even lick your lips if any water gets sprayed up into your face as you can contract this in that way! We did canoe competition for years on the Saco out of my home in North Conway, and he and I and the three dogs swam in the river and never got anything like this.

Insurgent

Swim and boat at your own risk, I guess!

I forgot to mention that we are long on land, but short on chairs. It is encouraged for folks to bring a camping chair or two so that you can sit around the fire or shore. Coolers work, too! We'll have drinks, perhaps even a keg, but feel free to bring your favorite beverages.

John

Well I told you guys that I would try to have more than just my one song before the next Porcfest . . . glad I started early.  :o
I now have three (well, and a half).

Cool! I expect that you will bring your guitar and give a performance!

John

Got a fiddle over there?  That was so cool jammin' "Let Me Call You Home" with a fiddler (never did that before.)
I VERY MUCH look forward to doing that again.
