Military member that need a way to help the FSP

I am a US Marine that currently resides in Hawai'i, and I am looking for a way to establish residency in New Hampshire to better help the FSP.  One way this can be done is if one of the members, who are New Hampshire residents, volunteers their address as the actual place of residence(which, for at least my duration in the Corps), though all that is needed is the permission for the residence of said address.  Mail can go to a mail service such as a UPS store, thereby reducing actual mail to near zero, to probably no mail recieved at the physical address.  If anyone is willing to discuss the idea, I can be reached at my e-mail: SColemanHawaii@yahoo.com

How will that help the FSP?

It would let him vote in NH, so that he could assist in reaching the FSP's goal.

better yet, you can help us out by resigning.

Damned Caleb beat me to the punch! :clapping:

I read the topic heading and I couldn't wait to post the very same thing!

Thanks for checking in with us....

Marines in Iraq might not be on a reasonable mission but I still appreciate your service SColeman.   Next month we might have a just war on our hands for all we know.

I don't necessarily see a problem with pro liberty people being in the military.   However I also can't help you with the residency thing...

d_goddard

I can't volunteer the use of my address, but I want thank you personally for having the fortitude to put your life on the line as a Marine.

I am certain that the unfortunate and unhelpful sniping from a vocal minority (Caleb and maineiac) will not deter you from engaging us in discussion here, nor in support for the freedom movement in general.

There are certainly things you can do while not yet in New Hampshire. As Aries mentioned, among the most pwerful and positive is to lobby our legislature with phone calls, emails, and letters, if you can get residency established here. I certainly hope someone can volunteer to assist with that.

You can also help a great deal by joining the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance and assisting in our petitions and in our time-consumig but important review of the proposed bills before the NH Legislature.

Another great way to help is to join the Free Talk Live AMP program.

You can also post and/or support articles on Digg, which helps raise awareness of what's going on here in NH.

There are many more useful ways to help listed on the Free State Project "A-Z Actions" webpage

Last but not least, what is your expected our of duty? When might you be able to be in NH for a few months at a stretch? We can organize a meet-and-greet so you can meet and chat with some of us face-to-face.

Unexplained?  I thought it was quite clear.

I consider killing on command to be unethical. It would really help me out if all military guys everywhere would just resign.

Thomas Jefferson feared a standing army.  Now, we have a gigantic standing army.

No, it was not clear to a guy looking to help out the FSP, it was a snipe.
It would take a long time to type out your thoughts and engage the man in debate, but unless you do you are just needlessly pissing off a potential ally. A lot of the folks in the military are good people, I know I used to be one of them.

It is not that big a deal.  Being an ahole from time to time is fun.  Lots of people from MA (the massholes) do it 24/7.

I don't think Caleb is gonna be able to change his mind anyway.  I've never known anyone in the military that left because they thought war was wrong.  I've known a lot of people that left for a short time to get drunk or because they did not like the stress, though.

Anyway, unless you are an officer you cannot ask to resign.  What you can do is go to jail for X number of years and then leave or wait till your contact ends.  If you are female, you could also have a baby and get out that way (pretty common).

Caleb

I never said they weren't good people, Pat.  If you remember from some of our discussions, I hold that as probably our only real hope:  namely, that the good kids in the military will refuse to drag their brothers off to camps.

I do believe, however, that the military kids are victims:  victims of a society that has glorified military service, made it seem honorable, and baited the rest of them into it by holding carrots out on sticks: college tuition, etc.  We have failed them.  We ought to have taught them to beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. We ought also to have taught them that an individual must make his own decisions, based on his own conscience, and not to accept "orders" from anyone.  That is our fault as a society.

Observe how people practically push old ladies over to rush over and shake the hand of a veteran to "thank you for your service to our country."  Denis does it on this very thread.

Does it make me unpatriotic to stand with Thomas Jefferson and fear rather than thank a standing army?

He said he wants to help the FSP. Helping your personal feelings of security is probably not real high on his list of priorities.
