Fluff and Stuff

Just what VT needs least, another liberal educator from NY.  I am not sure Jason will like VT though, it is not known for being friendly to his type, a christian  :)

d_goddard

This is just an excuse for Jason to go stark naked from time to time.

Rocketman

He should find himself a nice house in NH near the Vermont border, and soon!

He's keeping his eye on the democrat-fake-libertarian infiltrators who stand to ruin the movement.

Other'n that, don't mean a thing.

Or maybe he is one of them.  After all, he used to live in Ashville, NC, for Gods sake!  Did anyone hear his speech at porfest, anyway?  I hear he called for a larger and more powerful government that put everyone on welfare.  How knows, he also might be a fair tax supporter.

FrankChodorov

Quotehe also might be a fair tax supporter

no, maybe a land value taxation supporter...

;D

I heard something about that. NHerites want no part of that.
Anyway, this group is in Vt where they've always been wacky, (the home of Ben and Jerry!) and we should disassociate ourselves as much as possible.

actually the government would be much, much smaller as a result...

what would you need any other social services for?

excerpt:
I would also note that we could spend more than $10,000 per year on the poorest individuals if we means-tested benefits slightly. This is a variant of the plan proposed by Charles Murray in his new book "In Our Hands". He advocates doing it on the federal level, but I think that having the states decide on it as they choose makes more sense.

It should be obvious how the left might support such a plan, sometimes called a basic minimum income. Welfare recipients benefit because they are no longer restricted in what they can spend: housing, food, and so on. But the program doesn?t damage work incentives because every individual gets it, no matter his or her income. It isn?t a ?pure? libertarian solution by any means, but it does cut bureaucracy very significantly.

To show all the fools that like this idea where Vermont is.

Why shouldn't we encourage the SVR?  Their goal appears to be to distance themselves from the federal government and revert to local government.  If the SVR is successful, then everyone wins because it shows that a peaceful secession can occur (which may cause the fedgov to pause in its relentless march toward total domination).
