Lloyd is right about the extremities being cold if the body is cold.
Wool is one of the very few materials that insulate even when wet.
A hiking or mountain climbing supply store may sell them.

Ian, get a pair of these, they have been proven for thousands of years:

I did get a pair of those ($50!), and they didn't do much for me at all.  So gave them to Mark and I just today got a pair of these:

These booties are awesome!  My feet have been comfortable all throughout the evening.

Oh come on, it's not that cold!

Dude,
Ian,

You are wearing on your feet a product marketed as... "booties"
Next time you're picking on Mark's meterosexuality, I hope this information is used against you ;)

FTL_Ian

The sheepskin ones I gave Mark are much fruitier.  These are space age!   ;D

Sorry, they didn't work out for you. Maybe your place really is that much colder than mine. Even though I'm almost up in north country.

The heat is set to go on at our house at 50 degrees. It has only gotten that low a few times. Since it hasn't been that cold outside yet, it's usually about 55 in here.

That does explain a few things.  You are welcome to visit me anytime to warm up-- always a comfy 68 here -- Mark knows how to get here ;)

Keeping your feet warm in -35?F is easy.

Just put capsaicin on your feet before you go out. Voil?: warm feet.

Capsaicin is the cure-all.  It treats and/or cures prostate cancer, leukemia, diabetes, stomach ulcers, headaches, arthritis, aches and pains, sinus problems, etc.  8)

Mmmmmm... tastes great, too!  :)

From Wikipedia
"Capsaicin
The chemical compound capsaicin (8-methyl-N-vanillyl-6-nonenamide) is the active component of chili peppers, which are plants belonging to the genus Capsicum. It is an irritant for mammals, including humans, and produces a sensation of burning in any tissue it comes in contact with."

Hummm, yea, but is the burning sensation a bit much? Ouch!

I have to wonder about people who willingly eat the stuff. :)

Capsaicin?

Well, lessee... everyone who ate Ward's chili ate capsaicin. I ate some capsaicin tonight (spicy mixed nuts), and made some wicked good grilled shrimp (heavy on the capsaicin) for Christmas dinner.
