Heh, I wish my landlord deserved cookies and candy.  What'd you get your tenants?

Mine creeps up during the night. I set it as low as it can go when I go to bed and wake up with it back up to about 90. I think I need a new one, but my landlord doesn't believe me. It doesn't creep during the day.

90?!?!  That's crazy.  When I lived off campus last winter, my room would get sweltering but the room right above me was freezing cold.  A lot of landlords really suck.

The rest of the house usually tops at 75, but the heater in my room is huge and it makes my room very very hot.

The time is 11:42 I have just set my heater to 40 degrees. My window is wide open. Let's see how much my room heats up.

I gave them respect.  I live next door and leave them alone.

Holy crap!  That's insane!  That'd drive me crazy too.  Good luck getting that fixed.  Maybe if you had gotten your landlord fruit and candy for Christmas he or she would have taken care of it ;)

The downstairs basement is set at 68, the 1st floor is at 69 and we don't turn the heat on upstairs (bedrooms and bathrooms) at all we just use about 3 comforters on each bed. :)
We have never slept with the heat on, I just can't go to sleep with the heat on and I love a reason for putting my cold feet on my husband's legs and hearing him say "Oh my God"! ;D

We set ours around 65-68 during the day, and about 60 overnight.  Our insulation is decent enough that with weather like we've been having it doesn't always get all the way down to 60.

Anywhere from $30 for a cheap junk, to $100+ for fancy equipment.

A quality, no-frills unit would probably run approximately $50.

If there were enough interest, I could probably buy a few and get a discount on them.

Hell it was 66 degrees today... no need for a thermostat. ;D
