I know a guy who works for a company that makes a particular nasty bomb for the Gov. Does he run around saying 'Hey, I work for X Company and we make nasty bombs'? Does it matter?
Here in NH most folks don't care why you moved here, merely that you are here. (Kathy Sullivan is an exception) Most folks get tired of someone telling them what they should do, be you a statist or an anarchist.
Live your life as a free person. Show by example.
My 2 cents.

My ideal is to try to never tell someone what to do, however, whenever I hear of someone working in a capacity such as this, I would strongly suggest they find another vocation. Please understand, I do this out of a genuine concern for the well being of the person, as well as for the rest of us!

BTW, Alan, I enjoyed reading your Shorty site!

He thinks he's being patriotic.  ::)
Glad you enjoyed the Shorty site.

eques,

Get the fuck off the internet and get your ass to N.H.! (oops! . . . is gentle profanity allowed?) What is it with kids today?  :(

It's a no brainer, dude. You live in New Jersey now? Don't worry about the FSP or anything else. Just move and get working and settled.  Besides, if FSP has its way, in twenty years they will be the next coercive collective opposing libertarians!

I made the last statement in jest, but beware politicians, whatever names they call themselves.

Hahahahaha!!

Thanks for the "gentle" push, there, pal.  ;)

I'll be in New Hampshire November 4!  Or, uh, November 5?  Something.  This weekend, we're looking at places.

And will it take only 20 years?  Really!  ;)

Spencer

I believe that you'd qualify to register to vote at the polls if you have moved into NH prior to the election with the intent of residing there.  The election is November 7th.  Your timing is impeccable.

Well, we're here to find a place.  Wish us luck (if you're so inclined ;))!

Many of us will be in Manchester helping people move in if you want to meet some of us.
There is a thread about it telling the location.

Aw, rats.  I got that message a bit too late.   :-\

We have one place we're considering, so far, and we're going to be seeing a number of places tomorrow.

We're focusing on Manchester as there seem to be a fair number of apartments available according to our budget as well as a fair number of employment opportunities as Manchester is centrally located to southern New Hampshire.

I can't remember if any of you guys mentioned that earlier.  ;)

Happy Standard Time Day (well, in 1 hour and 40 minutes, anyway)!!!

Missed it again.  Blah.  We'll have to make the next one when we're not busy running around like chickens with our heads cut off.

We're moving this coming weekend (11/4-5): we got an outstanding deal in Ashland (thanks to FSPer Jason Rand) for the winter (at least, that's how things currently stand).  I'll be casting my net up and down 93 job-wise, though I'm not necessarily limiting myself to the central area of the state.

We'll be arriving Saturday afternoon, but exactly when depends on when my landlord can get to the apartment to take the keys and inspect the place (hopefully, he can drop the deposit in my hands sooner rather than later).

Again (and I don't think I can say this enough), thank you all for your advice and offers--I already feel welcomed, and I'm not even there yet!

I'm guessing that Ashland is a bit of a hike for the majority of freestaters, but, um, can I bribe some of you with beer or chips or something?  We'll most likely be arriving Saturday in the mid-afternoon to early evening, but the major move-in will be Sunday.

I can bring up a case of Yuengling from New Jersey (brewed in Pottstown, PA--it's a nice, medium-light lager).  ;)

Although, it might be more appropriate to have a stout or a porter.

Maybe we can get a pizza or something, too (if anybody knows a good pizza place in Ashland/Plymouth)!

Anybody have any special toppings they'd like?

Kat Kanning

want to give me a time and address & I'll put it up on the calendar?

Dreepa

Put me down as a maybe.
Is it 10am?

Dreepa

Also you might want to drive to the MVP meeting in Manchester that starts at 1pm... then tell people you JUST arrived and maybe you can convince people to help you move right after the meeting.

Last week we moved someone in in just over an hour.
