One of the requirements for a totalitarian police state is a system of kangaroo courts, star chambers which operate in secret and in parallel to the existing judicial system to convict political prisoners of pretended crimes against the state, which could never survive in the regular courts. And former judge Michael Mukasey, nominee for U.S. Attorney General to replace Alberto Gonzales, has proposed that the United States adopt such a system of courts.

We have indefinite preventive detention here. The cells consist of a square cubic concrete shape with a mattress and a hole in the floor. It looks like something out of a bad movie.

Somewhere in the European Union of Police States.
No, actually, Norway isn't a member of the European Union. But we are a part of the lovely 'European Free Trade Association' and the 'European Economic Area' which means that we adopt EU legislation, and we have a record of doing so faster than nearly all member states..

Sounds like Norway's government certainly WANTS to be part of the EU. Let me guess, the citizens said no?
