The home page of Foster's Daily Democrat (www.fosters.com) has a headline that reads:

FREE CONTENT: No paywall for storm stories

... yet paradoxically, there is a paywall on this story announcing that there is no paywall on storm stories.  I guess a story announcing that there is no paywall on storm stories is not, itself, a storm story.

FYI, Foster's has been subscription-based for a year or so, with surfers being given limited free access.

Tom Sawyer

The sparkle of ice crystals flying through the headlights... the little ATV pushed a wave of powdery snow down the hill.
The tunes from the iPod keep the chore fun...
Quote
NRBQ
Get Rhythm

Little shoeshine boy never gets low down
But he's got the dirtiest job in town
Bending low at the peoples' feet
On the windy corner of the dirty street
Well I asked him while he shined my shoes
How'd he keep from getting the blues
He grinned as he raised his little head
Popped a shoeshine rag and then he said

Get rhythm when you get the blues
Hey get rhythm when you get the blues
It only costs a dime just a nickel a shoe
Does a million dollars worth of good for you
Get rhythm when you get the blues

So, do we need to come dig you all out?

jerry

SNOW !  Did somebody say SNOW?
It's not so tropical in southern tropical Grafton today.

The yardstick shows it's 19 inches on the front porch.
Lloyd's chairs are a bit deeper but I'm not venturing out to measure it.
Gotta go throw another log on the fire.

Russell wants y'all to know that it's 49 in TX, roads are all clear.   In Amarillo, headed for Los Angeles.

They just changed it so that story can be seen by lurkers like me
I find it amusing that Durham's Winter Carnival has been canceled on account of snow.  ;D

Now the sun is too bright.

Correct.  I was just about to close the blinds when I saw this coming up my driveway.
