Beyond Ballots or Bullets:
Creating a Free America
A workshop to develop freedom strategies

Libertarians have tried for 35 years to win freedom by winning elections. It hasn't worked. Yet most freedom activists continue to focus on winning elections because the obvious alternative ? violent rebellion ? is both highly dangerous and highly ineffective.

It's time to break free of the false dichotomy of ballots or bullets. In this workshop we will explore non-electoral, nonviolent strategies to decrease the state's ability to coerce us and increase our own powers of resistance. We will also receive training in nonviolent struggle and make plans for action.

The basic facts:

    * Location: Provo, Utah
      Hampton Inn, 1511 S. 40 E.
    * Date: March 10-11, 2007
    * Registration fee: to be determined

Very inspiring.

By January 1, 2025 , every American who is determined to live free shall do so. Those who are content with their chains are welcome to keep them, but we who must be free will have our own centerless legal system and free institutions that are not subject to the State.

I would like for Russell to represent NHunderground and our efforts at the conference. Perhaps we can produce some kind of fundraising event to cover his travel expenses.

Well o-k but if he gets arrested out there, the logistics for the demo's are gonna be a bitch.

"Beyond Ballots or Bullets" runs very much in the vein of a website I've been reading (which happens to be linked from freeamerica.ws) called The On-Line Freedom Academy.  It's an attempt to lay the philosophical groundwork for an existence that does not legitimize Government.  I think it would definitely be a useful tool.  Attempting to convince people that they're meant to be Free has the potential for greater impact than the results of an election cycle (and is considerably more difficult than winning votes, even for a Libertarian candidate ;)).

I don't think that true freedom will come from the isolation or secession of a state or a region... it will come when the population at large just walks away from Government.

I've also mirrored it at http://tolfa.pyrich.com/.

I do appreciate how Kevin Van Horn correctly points out that "Ballots or Bullets" is a false dichotomy when it comes to securing our freedoms.

I am really inspired by this direction... And the NHunderground, thanks to Russell and many others, leads the way in actually carrying this forward in the real world.

Thanks for your input Eques... hope you can join us up here. Until then we can collaborate online. :)

Why on Earth would someone want to spend the money to have Russell come all the way out here to represent the NH Underground at this event when I'm right here in Utah?

???

Because Russell is a much better public speaker.

Gandhi was a horrible public speaker, too.

I do far better when not using a script, BTW. And I've learned volumes about public speaking within the last year.

What else might you expect from a super-calloused fragile mystic plagued with halitosis?
