A couple of threads here and on the FSP forum have mentioned flooding.  Not being familiar with NH, I'm wondering what parts of the state are more prone to flooding and if it's a big problem or only an occasional problem.  Living in "tornado alley" I realize anything can happen anywhere, but just wondering if there are certain parts of the state I should avoid moving to...

Near the low side of rivers/streams - that's prone to flooding.

Here's a gov site that might have info:

http://www.floodsmart.gov/floodsmart/pages/riskassesment/floodzonesdefined.jsp

That site probably isn't that useful...it says I live in a high risk zone, but I live on top of a hill.

Move to Keene.  The southwest corner of the state experienced a 'once in 25 year' flood last Year.  So, you're good for 24 more years!

I avoid living below sea level .... it has been working so far.
