Penn Jillette can sum up the finer points more elegantly than I ever could but I think the basic logical argument is fair enough. If someone can find the full episode on the net, it covers pretty much all the popular conspiracy theories of the moment.

The government just isn't competent enough. It has a hard enough time stopping their own politicians being exposed for having shady business deals, gay paedophile sex and drug use let alone convincing the hundreds of people needed to orchestrate a hoax or conspiracy as intricate as the moon landing or 9/11. I think all this shady satan worshipping secret world leaders is alot easier to accept than that alot of people just don't like to think about who they vote for, but it doesn't make me believe it.

It is the government that we trust that we should be wary of conspiracies.

The conspiracy theorists may be right about 9/11, but I still highly doubt it. The government is truly far too inept to succeed at conspiracy theories.

It's also quite telling when conspiracy "witnesses" prove to be fake and conspiracy theorists immediately claim the fake witness was part of a conspiracy to discredit the conspiracy theory.

Right. :bs:

So ... you're saying that government disinformation never happens?  Just curious.  There are lots of people out there who like to get their 15 minutes.

There are also people out there who spread disinformation intentionally.

Whatever the motive, false witnesses tend to discredit us, and it is an important reminder to anyone who does reporting on 9/11 to always double and triple check any "facts" that come his way so as not to be an inadvertant conduit for the spread of false information.

mvpel

::) Yeah, that's right, government disinformation never happens.  That's exactly what he said.  ::)

Actually, it's not just false witnesses that discredit you, it's also true witnesses who are selectively quoted to serve the conspiracy theory, like the "cruise missile" quote from the guy who saw the airliner hit the Pentagon.

Caleb

QuoteYeah, that's right, government disinformation never happens.  That's exactly what he said.

Tons of sarcasm, but that is *exactly* what he implied.  If it is inconceivable that someone spreading a false story might be working for the government, then that would imply that it never happens.

On the other hand, if it happens routinely, why would he consider it implausible that it would happen with respect to the 9/11 truth movement?

I invited him to respond with reasons why it is implausible by asking him if he really meant that it never happens.  Because if disinformation *does* happen, the onus is on Michael to explain why something that routinely occurs could not possibly be occurring now.

At any rate, your snide comment does not leave me any clearer on why this is not a possibility.  So I'm going to have to place your comment where it goes:  in the "neo-con" section of my brain where I shall promptly try to forget it as soon as possible.

Have you noticed that you seem to side with the fascists a lot, mvpel?

Government bureaucrats may be inept, but don't underestimate the billionaire/Skull and Bones elite and what they can accomplish. If they're so inept, what about the Kennedy Assass, WTC bombing #1, OKC bombing, etc. They're more than competent and have plenty of bread behind them. False-flag terrorism is usually planned at the higest levels of the elite's inner circles and thus everyone underneath them can be in the dark. Don't confuse bureaucrats with bilderbergers.

What?  ???

False flag terrorism is common throughout US History: the sinking of the USS Maine, The Lusitania, Pearl Harbor, Tonkin Gulf incident, 9-11. It is the method used by the Elite to gather support for wars.

For many years, the government denied any knowledge of the impending Japanese
attack. But, gradually, the pieces of the puzzle began to bubble up out of the mire of secrecy
and, one by one, they have been assembled into a clear picture of the most monstrous coverup
one can possibly imagine. The smoking gun was discovered in 1995. Author Robert
Stinnett found a memo in the Navy Archives written by Lt. Commander Arthur McCollum,
who was assigned to Naval Intelligence. The memo was dated October 7, 1940. It was directed to two of FDR?s top naval advisors: Captain Dudley Knox and Capt. Walter
Anderson, who was head of Naval Intelligence. This memo was approved by both men and
forwarded to FDR for action. The full text is now public information, and a photo of it
appears in Stinnett?s book, Day of Deceit; The Truth about FDR and Peal Harbor.1
The McCollum memorandum contained an eight-point plan of action to implement a
two-point strategy. The two points were: (1) Aggravate Japan into a military strike as a
matter of economic necessity and national honor on her part; and (2) Facilitate the attack by
not interfering with Japan?s preparations and by making the target as vulnerable as possible.
At the conclusion of the last point of strategy, the memorandum said: ?If by these means
Japan could be led to commit an overt act of war, so much the better.?

Awesome! Someone who doesn't buy the conspiracy bullshit. Thanks for the three video posts above. Everyone on this thread (and their friends and neighbors) should watch Ted Koppel's special on

We should have nuked Iran on September 12, 2001, if not sooner.
