He got 4% of the vote.

Ron Paul re-elected with 60%.

They had a lot of libertarians on the ballot in TX.

That means he'll be an early mover, right? :)

On my ballot, I think there were only two state offices that didn't have a libertarian. There were far more LP candidates than R or D.

I voted for Kinky for governor (not because I like his platform, but because I wanted to throw a wrench in the works). I voted for my R congressman, and the R ag commissioner, because they're both good principled men who deserve support. In every other race, I voted for the L. If there was no L, I didn't vote.

Here's the funny thing: in the 3- and 4-way races, the LP candidates got 2-4% of the vote. In the two way races, they got 22-26% of the vote! That tells me that either there are 20+ points' worth of LP voters who habitually vote for either the D or R in order to keep the other out of office, or there are 20+ points' worth of anti-incumbent voters. It's probably a mix of both.

I can't see what Badnarik has left to do besides move to NH. I can't see any campaign he's involved with in the future will have the national support it would've had in the past. Is he washed up? I think he could be of good use in NH.

Dreepa

Well he will be in NH on Feb 23, 24 and 25th.

d_goddard

How about a "demonstration" with the purpose of encouraging him to move?
Let him feel the NH Libertarian Love.
How about big signs that read: "COME HOME, MICHAEL!"

Lloyd Danforth

The story at Pfest 05 was that his wife doesn't doesn't want to move to NH.

Let him say that in front of a camera. If Mark can stand up to his wife... ANYBODY can ;)

Maybe she needs to come and visit with him.

Easy to say. Much, much harder to do. I say this from experience.

Yeah.... I would say there are probably a couple hundred people in that position right now.

Heh. Not moving without me is the only thing keeping Mary in Texas at the moment.

Joy!  Now I know who you are, thanks to your avatar.  Your husband seems like a good guy.  I encouraged him to heed your wisdom, and move to NH.  I hope he comes around.

I can't see how he could have gotten through Monday without drawing that conclusion.  The stuff he experienced just doesn't happen anywhere else.

... and now those of us who also hang out on the FTL BBS know what Joy looks like  8)

Anyone in the "my spouse needs convincing" position should come out to the Liberty Forum! You can use it to scope the place out, a no-commitment trial run. Come on, you know you want to see Stossel, Badnarik, and all the others anyway...!
