I don't know citizen 14 but I'd like to meet him. Is he
in NH? I hope that he can make it to the party this Saturday.

For some reason, I have a feeling that he's a man, only men can
be so certain and so wrong. All you need to do is go to
http://www.sos.nh.gov/general2006/hillsrep06.htm  look at District 7
and check the numbers.

Don't get me wrong, I talk out of my ass too and some times I'm
quite good at it, but this combination of ignorance and self-confidence
is impressive. This is a work of a master. That post of citizen 14
showed me that I still have a lot to learn.

citizen142002 is my friend.  There are over 400 seats up for grabs.  I think it's pretty easy for the eye to slip a little and make a mistake.  Give him a break.  Let's just be glad Neal didn't lose.

Amen to that, brother.

By the way, Caleb, I have this post bookmarked just in case some day you assert that politics and politicians don't matter ;)

I never said that politics and politicians don't matter.  I've called it "boring" before, but I won't say that it doesn't matter.

I believe that it is not our fight. It is possible to get a trojan horse candidate in (ie Ron Paul), but it isn't possible to get a whole slate in.  Which is what you need to make lasting change.

If you want to make lasting change, you need to change the hearts and minds of your neighbors.  And once that is done, politics does become meaningless because your neighbors will naturally do the right thing.  That is our battle.

Oh no, we're losing the battle for their hearts and minds! What to do? Call in reinforcements! ;D

As more lib types run for office locally or take part in the process, innocent citizens attending these town meetings might hear them, and say: "Hey! thats what I think!"
So political Porcs might get to some folks that otherwise might not hear about us.

Not might... will.  I can tell you it is already happening.

Bingo, Lloyd.  If nothing else, political activism is good outreach, not unlike what the Advocates for Self Government or civil disobedience does.  People see a Harry Browne speech on C-SPAN and think, "Hey, that man's been reading my journal!"  I honestly don't think the Libertarian Party stands a chance in the two-party, winner-take-all system, but it's a good vehicle for getting out the message and making people think in terms of big vs. small government.

Oh, so Neal didn't lose. Well frankly I'm surprsied, but I did base my comments of of the poll results he was near the bottom for vote getters in his district. I guess that was enough, and I'm glad.

Sorry if I mispoke. I had assumed that Neal didn't get enough votes, and I was wrong.

I wonder why this was such a big deal. Did you really feel a need to slam me that hard for a simple mistake? By the way it's nice to meet you. Good karma for you, since you were quick to correct my mistake and clear up any confusion that may have resulted.
