Wrong again, Objectivist.

Look up FrankChodorov for an example.

Why that son-of-a...... I don't really even like him very much.  >:(

the feeling is mutualist I assure you...

you have to divide the karma by the number of posts to find out how much you are despised...

Dude, are you so sold out on "mutualism" that you can't even say "mutual" when the situation warrants?  ;)

a John Kerryesque attempt at humor...

Ah... I didn't really pay much attention in 2004 (spent most of my time getting pissed off at the non-choice presented to us) and afterwards, heh, haven't been paying attention since.

In this case, most certainly, ignorance is bliss.

The Kurds sure are happy we're there - see http://www.theotheriraq.com/ - they no longer have to fear chemical genocide at the hands of Saddam's Ba'thist thugs.

Yep -- because we're no longer giving Saddam the chemical weapons.

Mvpel, you have the second lowest Karma in the history of this forum...  >:(

I beat you out for first.  ;D (A laudable accomplishment, considering the company?)

Objectivist

No you don't.

You missed Money D
and Frank...

Wait, I'm just getting started here. I think Frank hates me enough to neg karma me to negative infinity... If that happens the universe might reboot. LOL

You don't even have the foggiest idea what real "oppression" is, do you?

The Kurds sure are happy we're there - see http://www.theotheriraq.com/ - they no longer have to fear chemical genocide at the hands of Saddam's Ba'thist thugs.

Here's another quote for you - "If not the US, who?  If not now, when?" - after 900,000 (more) are hacked to death like they were in Rwanda while the UN and the Clinton Administration wrung their hankies?  After 10 million were slaughtered while FDR stalled and delayed and implemented half-measures in 1944, five years after sending refugees abord the SS St. Louis back to their deaths in the inferno of Nazi Europe?  When?

"We have no interest in oppressing other people... it's not so much the country; it is its leader.  He has led a reign of terror... the maintenance of a tremendous military arsenal can only be regarded as a focus of danger. We have displayed a truly unexampled patience, but I am no longer willing to remain inactive while this madman ill-treats millions of human beings."

Read Isabel Patterson's "God of the Machine" and you'll see why dictatorships invade other nations.

America has polarly different, even if stupid and ill-conceived, aims.

If you are seriously equating the motives of Hitler and Bush, first your giving Bush too much credit, and second, you're a FREEEEEAAAAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roger,

A sincerely held, candidly expressed intellectual or philosophical disagreement is not "trolling," it is the stuff from which online forums are built.
That is not why this forum was built. But a lot of it occurs here. We let people debate on here and we also let people debate about whether we should allow debating. :)

mvpel

But Russell, we simply disagree about deadly defensive force, we don't disagree about most of the core principles of individual liberty and personal responsibility.

And if the assertion that "no law makes the average American liable for personal income tax" were axiomatic, and therefore not debatable, then people wouldn't be spending time in jail for not paying.

Calling BS BS is not trolling.

Roger,

A sincerely held, candidly expressed intellectual or philosophical disagreement is not "trolling," it is the stuff from which online forums are built.

To characterize it as "trolling," is to reveal your misunderstanding of the meaning of the term, which is derived not from the name for under-bridge dwelling creatures, but rather "trailing bait behind a slow-moving boat waiting for eager fish to snap at it."  In the online world, it's "Posting derogatory messages about sensitive subjects on newsgroups and chat rooms to bait users into responding."

I've been using online fora since 1984, so trust me, I know what trolling is, and saying that the liberation of the brutally oppressed Iraqi people was a Good Thing is not it.

Why are you so bent on enforcing intellectual conformity here by stooping to infantile name-calling?

:clapping:

Karma for mvpel.

I'm so laughing my ass off reading this! Great thread! How did I miss it? Maybe I didn't, but I haven't read through it yet!

(I need to go to my oxy forum, since I just dropped . . . no offence! :P )

Fucked right up, and loving it!

Have a free day!

mvpel... I'm am here "enforcing intellectual conformity".  ;D

Hey the person  calling you a troll doesn't carry any weight around here. :)

Russell Kanning

Oh my .... one of our "trolls" (FrankC) was thrown clear out of the ring last week. The action is heating up with new contenders from the DC area coming on strong with multiple consecutive posts in the Ed Brown thread. :)

Lloyd Danforth

They come to us as Trolls and gradually become our Pets.  Then they wander out of the yard, possibly get hit by a car, and we don't hear from them.  Some like MD return form time to time, presumably, between vacations at the Pound.
