GAO: Eminent domain data limited

A GAO investigation found that states keep very little data on eminent domain takings, making it difficult to determine much of anything with respect to how eminent domain is being used.

One fact that did come out, though, is that federal law limits how much can be paid to relocate eminent domain victims, and many state and local officials say those limits are far too low.
