I am sure that before I would ask someone to give up their job, I would first have to be willing to give up mine. Since I don't have a job, or one that I admit to anyway, I can't give one up.

I am sure if you investigate all the companies people work for there would be something that would connect them to the gov't,  and thus most any job could be considered 'immoral'. But again that's just reality...

Yeah, it comes out to around 50% of the population, once you figure in government contractors.

But I'm referring only to the 1% or so who work directly for the federal government and whose paychecks are drawn directly from the U.S. Treasury.

Besides, once the federal government is appropriately downsized, the government contractors will find honest work.

Also this is not to say that some services are not needed, just wish the government was not the one who provided them.

You are correct. Example:

We need education. We DON'T need government education.

We need roads. We DON'T need government roads.

The reasons, not surprisingly, are exactly the same for both.

This board has a bunch of Agitators and a few Ghosts. We need our Moles as well.

Hell I would settle for more 'DOERS'

This is something I've been wondering about.  Obviously everyone has their own ideas on how to achieve Liberty in our Lifetime, but I had hoped to hear more about what's currently going on.  I like what's happening in Keene, and maybe it's just because the people involved there post on this board.  Perhaps other groups of people are DOERS and just don't post on here?

When I make the move this summer I'll want to be as involved as possible.  I'm not packing up and leaving everyone I know in order to vote every so often or write the occasional LTE.

I fully intend to be one of the DOERS.  I'm currently reviewing Bills for the NHLA and trying to create a soundtrack for PORCs (writing music that everyone likes is extrememly difficult!  ;)  ).  I guess the point of this post is to find out what all can be done?  Sure I could join the multitude of organizations (CNHT, NHadvantage et al) but I'd really like to know more about what's happening in places other than Keene.  What goes on at the monthly meetings for each region?  Is it just an hour or so of lecturing, preaching to the choir etc... ?

we used to post pictures and stuff from porcupine meetings, but got too busy.

sometimes we are bored at manchester meetings, but not recently
the concord meetings are fun/talking with each other
same for keene
same for new Dartmouth meetings
I haven't been to a seacoast meeting in a long time or the plymouth meeting

CNHT

We'd be happy to have you, as there is much to do. The two most busy are the native CNHT and the new NHLA and between those two groups who cover town and state, you would have more than you could handle. The Porc meetings seem mostly social and rehashed events past and mentioned future events that are planned but are not really organized as an organization but a point of outreach for all other activities that people are doing.

The PLN portends to be a taxpayer group which is excellent since they have none up that way.

As for bill review I just updated a review to a very suspect bill, HB 436.

They want to use that to hide behind our 'compelled speech' laws. I suppose I should post to a different thread about that! But if you read the review that should be coming through soon, you will see what I wrote about it. I have to find the RSA....

Yeah, you might develop a bad reputation or something...

It is bad karma . . . .  (Where'd that topic go?)

CNHT

We're on air now, but our streaming is down and I've contacted the station manager to fix it.
If you're in the Manchester area you can hear us on 90.7 FM...

Ed doesn't think that was the intent of HB 436 but it will have to undergo further study before we can make a decision on whether it could be used against us or not. The sponsors are good people so they may not have considered that consequence.
