Is anybody familiar enough with Coos county that they could sate my curiosity regarding this odd-looking set of clearings which is apparently in the middle of nowhere?

The location of this oddity is 44 45'41.00"N 71 24'57.35"W.

This thing lies!!!  It says the max attachment size is 250KB, but when you go to attach, it says that it's actually 192KB!  Lies!!  Lies!!!  It's all lies!!!!!!!!

Possibly swampy areas. There looks to be a lot of water in the area. Beavers have a lot of fun damming things.

Yes, I'd already seen those while flying around with Google Earth.

I believe they're mining pits of some type. There is some surface mining in Co?s County. I did some research on mining sites and mineral resources, but couldn't correlate any stated activities with the pits shown.

Get out your GPS and go up there and take a look.

That's in Stark

I recognized the name of the road

I am 99% sure that that is logging in the Nash Stream Forest

look in the National forest near exit 35 (after the notch, where route 3 splits off towards Twin Mountain)
there's a LOT of logging done there, see if you can find similar patterns

A UN internment camp?

I looked at some property very near there, up on the mountain 7 miles to the west. Definitely a lot of logging in the area. The photo reminds me of the Ravenna Arsenal in Ohio, but I doubt that is a set of bunkers in northern NH.

If you go 8 miles ENE of that spot there are some larger instances of the same thing. It definitely looks like some sort of patchwork logging technique where small circles are cut out, connected into a pattern by little access roads.

I am sure it is alien invasion landing pads.

I was considering hopping up there (I don't have GPS, but it's right at an intersection of two main roads), but the 4+ hours worth of driving (and my current cashflow situation) made me reconsider that course of action.

Is that the opening to the TRUE underground?  The word is that Russell has been working in his spare time to create an exact replica of America beneath the crust.  Everyone will be invited.  Those who don't abide by the NAP will be banished topside.

An exact replica of America? That would really suck to have two Americas. :o

Is that the formation by Errol, New Hampshire, or is it another one?

There are like a half dozen seperate formations like this in Errol.

You might be interested to know, that that formation is not unique.  I've actually seen virtually identical features in several states.

I'm obsessed with satellite imagery... so I wanted to reply to this the other day, but didnt get around to it.  However, by amazing coincidence.... I stumbled upon 2 similar formations today, which prompted me to get back to you.  I found some more in Florida.  Specifically by Leesburg (right above Orlando).

I'm usually pretty good at identifying strange features via aerial imagery.... but this one has me a bit stumped.

Strange mining technique?.  Possible.  Many mining circles can be found worldwide via Google Earth, especially littering Canada...  However, usually mining circles are very asymetrical and randomly shaped.  Not really circles at all... just sort of odd shaped circles.   They don't make perfect circle patterns like the ones show in Errol, New Hampshire or in Leesburg Florida.

Strange logging technique?  Possibly. I kind of doubt it, but maybe Occams razor applies here. Such a logging technique makes little sense.  Why log in perfect circles, other than for aesthetic reasons of not simply clearcutting whole areas which may tend to piss people off.

Crop or forest circles?   Pretty far fetched, although it sure looks like thats what it is... I think Occam's razor may say otherwise.  Its probably some logging technique.

The ones in Florida almost guaranteed are not mining related.  The ones in Errol, NH are not as perfectly layed out and green as the Florida ones.  Their more 'dirty' so its possible it is mining related.... but the rez of the NHY photos sucks, so you cant really tell.

As you may know... the Google Earth maps of New Hampshire really suck.  Extremely low rez for whatever reason, and the images are extremely dark and green.... so its hard to see the NH circles close..... but if you want a better look at what these things look like, see the ones I found in Florida.

The rough GPS coordinates of the Florida circles are:

28 degrees 44'38.07" North
81 degrees 54'38.14" West

Theres also a second patch of circles right above the ones above.

I think it is where the Feds are going to hold all the FSP members after they roll in the tanks and totally wipe Keene off the map. >:D
