QuoteThe deficit was equal to 9.9% of gross domestic product (GDP) - more than treble the 2008 level and the highest since the end of World War II.

Note: I had to go to international press to find this, as national is still fixated on "Balloon Boy".   ::)

I'm with Ron on this one.  Work on improving your own situation.
Reduce debt
Grow an organic garden in the back yard
Repair and make the house more efficient
Reduce my spending and increase savings
Learning to cook from scratch and keep and use a pantry.
Learn more skills and teach others the ones I know.
Work on good solid friendships with capable people who I share values with.
Work on alternatives to government supplied services. (Private schools and firearm instruction.)

I have also looked at some of the essays written about Argentina and their financial collapse.  My guess is the US will suffer more like Argentina than Russia.

One advantage I see in being in NH is the community that is growing here.  This is the only place I have ever lived that I am among my peers.  I have great friendships and support here in NH.  This will make a huge difference when things get really tough.

Ditto.  "Santa" knew what I wanted for Christmas, and I'm now reading "Surviving the Economic Collapse: Based on First Hand Experience of the 2001 Economic Collapse in Argentina".  I've just started it (obviously, since Xmas was yesterday  :P ), but so far I like it.  English is the author's second language, but you really can't tell.

California tax receipts were 26% below estimates!

The Governator has mentioned the possibility of ELIMINATING welfare!

Get those fire extinguishers ready; Kalifornia's about to start burning.....   :violent5:

Hi Friday!  :)   Did you ever finish that book?  I just bought it and I was wondering how you liked it.  It's this one, right? "The Modern Survival Manual: Surviving the Economic Collapse" by Fernando Ferfal Aguirre ?

Friday

rainey, no, I haven't finished it yet.  I bought several books at Liberty Forum and got distracted.   :P  But it's next month's selection for the Liberty Book Club, so I have motivation to finish it now.  Based on what I've read so far, I think it's got a lot of good and detailed info in it, and I do recommend it.   :read:
