They even want a new tax on bedrooms...

Excerpt from Arlinghaus article on the new majority:

"Already this year, before the debate even begins on raising existing taxes, policy makers are suggesting new taxes on soda, on bottled water, groundwater use, snowmobile rentals, income, some types of property, and (I'm not making this up) a potential new tax on bedrooms. In this year's process, the governor and various legislative groups should consider opening the debate with a clear statement of principle. Should we expect no taxes or some taxes?"

I don't know what to say.
The gop torturse people, and arrests and mistreats millions in their utopia of a society with no drugs, and the dems want to semi-enslave the country for their utopias through taxes and mandatory 'public servitude'.
Screw these m-----f------.

In NH we've ALL been stolen from at any given time.

But I don't know of anyone who has ever been 'tortured' by their own government in NH.
People need to learn to separate the two, otherwise, shooting themselves in the foot is the result.

Speaking of which, thanks to that hysteria and confusion, we now have US Congressman Paul Hodes who actually defended just one such government thief. I guess you could call her a person who stole the already stolen funds. You can read about it here:

You are right about the torture, but they love the idea of locking up and effectively destroying the lives of (mostly men) people for self medicating with substances that 100 years ago a child, could purchase from a seller.
I'm sick of the politicians.  I am under no illusions that the dems are any better, but I refuse to continue supporting the lessor of two evils.
I no longer believe the solution is political.
Bless you for your efforts, I just do not believe in the direction you are heading.

Don't they already take into account the number of bedrooms in property tax?

FYI I can't say too much but let's just say that I happen to live in an "unknown location"

What you think we are just going to sit here and let them steal our money and then let some employee steal that on top of it?
Not on your life, budski.

>:(

I dunno anyone in NH who's been locked up for life for what I think you are referring to, even though I see they do it all the time....<shrug>

They take into account square footage of living space, but to tax number of bedrooms would be on top of that...just like the 'view' tax is on top of location considerations.

Part of the solution is definately political. Most of us have arrived at our principled stance through paying attention to the political realities. One of our best approaches to gathering troops for the upcoming revolution is to stay involved politically and maintain that open door for those coming along behind us.

The one constant of the political parasite class is their direction. They always want more blood to feed their ravenous appetite for control. :-\

Well two that I know of are Salem (watch for Laurel Redden) and Plainfield (watch for  Rep. Charlotte Houde Quimby) who will be themselves or have other people at their town meetings in the spring, trying to pass a warrant article to prevent candidates from taking the The Pledge

But suffice to say, even if you don't yet own property, you need to appear in numbers at your own town meetings to rally the troops and for education of the people ahead of time.
Which is why these taxpayers groups are doing such a good job. I think in Hopkinton they have 300 members...led by an FSPer. It's wonderful.

All of a sudden the government is being watched and believe me, they don't like it!

I will post heads up of more towns as I get wind of them....there is just so much going on!

Here is background information on the anti-pledge group:

http://www.concordmonitor.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061205/REPOSITORY/612050397/1043/48HOURS

Bottom line is, just because the property taxes seem high, the overal individual tax burden per person in NH is still the second lowest in the nation.
The property taxes can be controlled by simply taking your butt down to a few meetings per year (hell, get a babysitter if you must or ask for time off of work to vote) and voting NO on all spending. Epsom is doing the default budget thing.

If there are 20,000 people in a town, and only 100 show up, and 70 of them vote for more spending (which is what happened in my town) you can't then complain.

This is a legitimate government?!?

Like I said, personal responsibility for voting must be taken seriously, otherwise people will get the illegitimate government they deserve.
No one is stopping them from attending their town meeting, and funny thing is, the working class type people who stand to lose the most by the increased taxes, are the ones who are the least interested in showing up.

Another good thing is to institute SB2 (ballot voting) for both your school and town elections. This is less intimidating for some. All it takes is a petition with 25 names to get on the ballot and then the public doesn't have to worry about being seen voting against taxes at an open meeting.

*I think what I meant to say was, "if you were one of the ones who did not show up...."

No government is legitimate. Period. That is the big lie.
