Most of the Czechs I know over age 30 would take quite a bit of offense at the assertion that some American president "brought them freedom" ... they distinctly remember risking their necks in a countrywide protest, even when the Soviet tanks were rolling in the streets (aka the "velvet revolution").

I think that those millions of acts of quiet defiance did more to topple communism than any president ever did.
