Canucks using Automatic License Plate Recognition system

The scary part is how wonderful this officer thinks this system is.

Oh, and someone needs to tell ol' Sgt. Red Green there, that seatbelts are mandatory in Canada. Think he'd write himself a ticket?

every time I go to montreal, on the highway between Magog and Montreal, I can go 90 and get passed. People literally go 100MPH+ on that highway because there are NO police... I've seen a Canadian cop once on the road and he was in traffic. They all have radar detectors too (I think they're illegal as well?)

I'm not saying this system is needed... but for at least some roads, uh, I can clearly see why the government wants it.

I find it quite disheartening to see cops on tv talking about this new improved this and new improved that. . . . . . then they blow a hole the size of a basketball through a brick wall.  I hate seeing new technology used at toll booths, where my paranoid mind swears that they're recording my license plate as I throw my money.  I just hate that cops love any new invention that makes it more efficient for them to increase their revenue and in turn increase their pay.
