how come no discussion of the Tuttle's plight?

excerpt:

The location of Carolyn and Morton Tuttle's home, at the precise place where the Langley Parkway will meet Pleasant Street, has plunged the couple into one of the loudest and longest debates Concord has seen in recent years. At times, the couple has been portrayed as a pair making undue demands on city officials as they look for a new lot for the Tuttles' home.

But sitting in their living room, each in their respective place on a couch and chair with cushions covered in plastic, the private Tuttles are at odds with their public image. A small black cat walks back and forth across Carolyn Tuttle's lap. Morton Tuttle asks often for questions to be repeated.

One day after the city zoning board denied an application for variances that would have allowed the Tuttle house to move to Rockland Road, the older couple seemed frustrated and intensely worried about what will happen to their home.

Frank thank you for posting this...the subject line alone was enough to make me disignore you for this post, and I will probably disignore you on this subject from here on out.

I will probably try and call them I guess and see what they think would be helpful for us to do.

What's the history behind this?

did you read the article?

going on about 10-15 years I believe...the city wants to extend Langley Drive out to Clinton Street so ambulances can come right off I89 quickly to hospital rather than through horrible 5 way intersection of Fruit & Pleasant in front of the high school (Denis lives a stone's throw away).

St. Paul's school wants to make a public road into a private road that today is used as a short-cut to 89 cutting thru campus.

abutters include a catholic church facility (Carmelites)...house on national historic, wet lands behind, etc. etc.

Yes, I read the article, but your brief explanation helped, too.  1+ for you...which doesn't look like it happens often.

That is a perfect example of tyrrany in action:

(1) We're gonna take your property without your permission to build something for our city; and

(2) What do you mean you want a variance in city zoning law to move the house from the property we the city are taking?

Dreepa

That is right by Frank's house!

I pass this house often.
Denis live over near there too.

I was going to post.  There is also another thread about this somewhere.

I can see nice big protests if ED comes into play.

You are so nice 1+ for you too!  I know what you mean, I try to 1+ for him too.  I wonder what's wrong with Frank's posts, I haven't read all of them but for the most part they seem okay even though some I don't understand. :dontknow:

it is actually a libertarian re-education camp...stay tuned I may be soon declared "cured" of my unlibertarian postings and thoughts.

Karma for Frank!

Alright, Frank's numbers are going down!  I've been giving him Karma almost everyday.  I'm a softy and he seems confusing but very nice and respectful, I like that! :D

Those posts of his you don't understand, the ones that repeat some canned statement like, "economic rent blah based on personal ownership blah blah owed to those excluded blah except or in spite of locke's proviso, and on and on and on blah blah" are the same ones everyone else can't understand, either.  He is smited so often because his posts repeatedly regurgitate the same indecipherable mantra.

Also, I didn't know Frank was in daycare!

:D

edit: I think I got so frustrated reading Franks posts when I first came here, I smited him once or twice. Now, they're just almost like white noise, comforting in an odd sense!
