Bastard got me hooked on Boston Legal.   Dreep!  I like watching golf it Tiger Woods is playing.   As I live, cheaply, 5 years behind the 'state of the art', I use my  VHS recorder, not TIVO.

I won't even play golf.
I think Tivo is 5 years behind. ;)  I can watch a sports event in less than 1/2 the time.

We don't even have cable television right now, just cable Internet.

This probably explains why I've been able to make so many long and drawn-out posts on here over the past few weeks, huh?  ;)

Use a splitter and plug it into your TV; I'll bet you've got basic cable too.

I just saw a movie called Idocracy that is based 500 years in the future.  People have evolved downwards, turning everyone into complete idots from too much dumb television and electronic things that were meant to make people's lives easier and less complicated.  Scary to think about!

When we first moved here we had no tv for about 4 months and it was great!  The kids played together and became more creative, bigger mess makers too but who cares they were having fun.  I read a lot more and cooked more, played games with the kids.  Then about a month ago we got direct tv, Rick wanted the kids to be able to watch cartoons and have it feel more like our old home.  I only watched it this week because I have a cold and quit smoking so I ache all over, now I'm depressed as hell and can't stand when the tv is on yet I'm not in the mood to play games and read.  I've actually spent all morning trying to talk myself into getting a pack of cigarettes because I feel like I am going crazy without them.
Anyways back to tv, we let the kids watch it after 7 p.m. everynight and all day Saturday and here's what I've noticed; my son is hooked again, complains he's bored until 7 p.m., my daughters don't really like watching it anymore so they still find other things to do most of the time.  The cartoons are very strange anymore, I used to watch cartoons with the kids every Sat. morning and then one day I noticed no more, Scooby Doo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, etc. they were being replaced with weird cartoons that didn't make any sense to me like Mandy and a skull or something like that, Kids Next Door ect.
If I'm watching a nice movie that's okay for kids, the friggin commercials are real bad.  If we cancel before a year we get charged for the whole year anyway so I guess we're keeping Direct TV for a year. :)

Oddy enough it makes total sense to me, except how Miriam can be so unthankful to Courage for saving her all the time. :-\
