I enjoy watching  Courage.   I miss 'Cow and Chicken'.  There is a bunch of weird stuff on the cartoon network late at night.  I don't get most of it, but, find it entertaining.

Thank you, thank you I was too paranoid to mention Cow and Chicken. I loved that cartoon and Chicken's accent!  I don't understand how they were brother and sister though?  And Cow's utters were gross but funny at the same time.

Don't you remember?  It's all explained at the beginning of the show ;D  I loved how Chicken was the older brother to Cow who was three times his size.

I stopped watching cartoons when Wile E. Coyote started talking.

There are very few shows that I still find worth watching, most of which are on PBS and HBO.

I expect to phase out television entirely in the near future in favor of getting whatever small amounts of video I watch online: public domain video, pay-per-download if the terms are reasonable, pirate P2P otherwise.

Isn't your avatar from that 'Bob visits the Mayor' cartoon show that I can't stand?

I believe the media is controlled somewhat. Whether or not that means the editors are our equivalent to Soviet political officers and are in the employ of the CIA or they just like the government remains to be seen.

We may very well have a free press. But I find it fishy as hell when the Military Commissions Act gets bigfooted by a scandal that comes out of nowhere from a Senator I've never heard of. Or that other overhyped stories seems to come about right when something important and dangerous is happening.

Whose avatar?  I've never, ever heard of that cartoon when was it on? :)

Exactly and it's happening right now again!  I'm totally glad those 2 kidnapped boys were found but it's been on the news all the time instead of the troop increase, the Scooter (spelling?) trial, ect.  The media seems to do this with everything so I hardly ever watch it anymore.  I was sick this week that's why I've been watching alot of tv, yuk it gets so boring.  I'm glad I'm getting better.  :)

Courage the cowardly dog makes sense to you? :D

:clapping: You beat me to it. I can remember thinking how weird Scooby Doo seemed!

BTW, no Sammy Farha on High Stakes Poker last night! :-[

Scooby Doo seemed weird, no way!  Scooby is the coolest! ;D

I never knew he started talking.  I must have missed it, that would suck and change everything!

Someone mentioned getting hooked on tv shows.  I consiously avoid watching new shows at the beginning to avoid getting hooked.
I actually don't own a tv, but watch Jeopardy with my dad quite frequently.

Before I weaned myself off television, I got "hooked" on shows like 24 (!!!!!) and Stargate SG-1. These days, if I really want to watch them, I wind up finding all the hidden assumptions and propaganda buried in them. I am happy to say, though, that I haven't seen a television COMMERCIAL in a very, very long time.
