Okay Eques, I'm asking, what the hell does that word mean? :D

"bucolic" means "rural" or "pastoral," which means "fields."

I'm using it in an ironic sense.  :)

For eques, I grew up in Nutley, so we have some common understanding as to what I am dealing with now.  Currently, I'm in Bergen County which is maybe 10 miles from Manhattan, yet it would take 2 hours to get there on a work day!

NJ, does have a lot of nice areas - Sussex was mentioned, and Warren Co is also bucolic.  The politics, crowding, and all that are all-over, so I really need to escape NJ once and for all.

Another nut-head!

My parents grew up in Nutley (my father on Brookfield Ave, my mother on Hamilton Pl), and I lived there for three years before I moved to Clifton.  My maternal grandparents just moved out of the house they've been living in for the past, what, 40 years?  They trekked down to Atlanta, near my aunt.

So yes... I think that you'll find that anyplace in New Hampshire is a relative breath of fresh air, though you may not be living in an area that was quite as urban as the border of Paterson and Clifton.

I can see how Nashua would be comparable to the compact-suburb-metro area of NJ as it probably acts as a bedroom community for a lot of Boston commuters (though that's only a guess--other people could tell you for sure :)).
