Just watched a documentary on credit cards called "Maxed Out".
Very interesting. Not enough gov't bashing, but there was a little, so I'll take it.

My favorites, are the more recents things .. like

V for vendetta...  must see and watch again movie. just wish it was placed in the USA, many think that OH thats europe that could never happen in the USA, were a free country thats why we left europe and started the USA... Damn Sheeple!

Most south park episodes are pretty good for a poke her and there. they also attack other isssue that are of interest..

Team America, was good also

I also like some of the Canadian TV I get, they really criticize the US positions on stuff alog along with there own countries issues. There media isn't as corrupt as ours apparently.

Not a 'Liberty' film per se, but, 'The King Of Hearts' is a good antiwar movie

I haven't seen it yet, but it looks good:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgHX7bu-TWk&feature=related

A musical, feel-good movie about Estonia's fight for independence from Soviet oppression.

P.S.  Thanks for the critique on Harold & Maude -- it sounds like I've got to go rent that one.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already, but KPFK here ran a 3 hour documentary that was very powerful called "Power of Nightmares"... apparently hard to find here in the US but it was a bbc documentary that pretty much exposes the war on terror as a bunch of bullshit.

All highly seconded! V for Vendetta is a FANTASTIC movie about freedom...a big one you missed though that I have to add..another favorite of mine... Serenity.  8) Captain Malcolm Reynolds is the Man.

Not hard to find at all, if you know where to look.

is on top of things.

Thanks, I just watched the first part.

Funny aint it the same cast of caricature's have been
behind and in front of the scenes for the last 40 years
causing a shit storm, whenever they can.

RED DAWN...as a kid i loved watching it over and over and over...the idea that teenagers could have an influence with guerrilla tactics helped influence me today...to fear nothing!

The Good the Bad and the Ugly has some very relavant scenes depicting the uselessness of some death in great wars and the stupidity of those who plan its battles.

1984 enough said

I've seen some foreign films with overtones of survival and the abuses and hypocrisy in gov.

what about Mad Max and the Road warrior trylogy? lots and lots of great movies with something about individualism and gov tyranny.    Great thread!

Yeah, it was fun to watch and I liked the teamwork and the small band against the opressors vibe, but looking back as a libertarian its way too nationalist for my taste.

Battle of Algiers  ...is laced with nationalism, but it is still excellent.
