HAMPTON ? Undeterred by snow and frigid temperatures, 800 swimmers jumped into the water at Hampton Beach yesterday for the eighth annual Penguin Plunge.

I sent that to some friends and family today.

Ambient air temp: near zero. Water temp: near 40 degrees. People diving in: 800.

Money raised for Special Olympics: half a million dollars.

Good on 'em. Good charity.
