Let's see, there's Google groups, which is somewhat less offensive, then there's running your own mailing list software (you have a website already, there's little reason not to! especially if you intend to keep it around a while)...

Critter183

Trust is my main issue here, I think. Which are people going to trust more? A yahoo group or an edbrown.org mail list?

I could probably figure out how to configure the mail list program that comes with my cPanel on the hosting account.

error

It's not so much that I don't trust a Yahoo group as that I find them absolutely obnoxious and annoying and much too difficult to navigate and use.

Critter183

I see, thanks.

I rarely go to the actual yahoo group. I use my main email account and take my messages off the server with Thunderbird. I have the group's email address in my Thunderbird address book, so it's really pretty simple.

error

I get much too much email. So I probably wouldn't subscribe to a mailing list either. Now a Google group that I could pick up via RSS, that I'll consider.

Critter183

I'll definitely ponder that. I want to do what will work. lol

But the main purpose of the main group will be to get all of the bloggers and webmasters that are following this case important info quickly. Then they can post it, forwarded to their lists, etc. It really won't be a chatter group. The 2nd group will be for the chatter.

If you don't like email chatter or you don't need to get the latest the fastest, then it's no big deal. hehehe

I absolutely cannot stand Yahoo groups. If something's on one, I will simply refuse to participate.

Well, at their heart, Yahoo groups are just mailing lists. But... ick.

Ah, for the good old days of true listservs and sending majordomo commands.

I suppose email is good for chatter. That seems to be what clogs up my inbox. That, and the paranoid nutcase of the hour who hears voices in his head beamed in by the government's mind control rays.

Getting a lot of info out to people fast is what RSS is made for.

And, you might not have known this, but your blog has RSS built in! I suggest you just open it up for anybody (at Ed's place) to post on.

It's just email. I get too much email too, but that's why I set filters to route all my mail into different boxes; every listserv has its own box.

You're right about navigating the Yahoo site. I can't stand to go there even to administer the groups I own. Reading the messages from Yahoo's site is nuts.

Everybody has email. Almost no one uses RSS.

I do know it has RSS. And trust me, I was trying to open it up for anyone at Ed's place, but was turned down.

Edbrown.org looks good.    I kind of like the idea of having it mirror what's on questforfairtrial altho maybe not on the front page.   maybe it could also mirror the main NHfree.com thread?

Another suggestion...how about changing the "new hampshire free" link to read "NHfree.com?"

Thanks for the work you have put in on this critter.

Picky aintcha? hehehe

Done!

As far as mirroring goes, that may be tough. I think it is going to take on a life of its own here soon. I am trying to get Elaine to come in and author some posts from her side of the ordeal.

Well, I just checked out edbrown.org and there's a big post saying that Peace is an agent saboteur.  :(
