Does anyone here use Freecycle? It could be another good way to get/give stuff, plus spread the pro liberty love a little bit.

There are very active freecycle list in the concord area.

I started the Winchester one. It's a great way to get rid of what's cluttering your place and occasionally you even find something you want too!

There's one in the Merrimack-Amherst-Hollis-Milford area (with a lot of Nashua folk dropping in): http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Amherst-areaNHFreecycle/

I didn't join a group, but I always ask around to whom I think would use the stuff first from the people I know, especially if they have helped me in any way.

So far I've given away a stove, a clothes dryer (in progress) and some bags of sand and salt I can't use.

I'm in a huge 'cleaning' mode, and giving away a lot of stuff...

Speaking of needing help, given that we are expecting a huge storm on Weds, I could use some instruction on how to run my new snowblower.. (hint hint)

Set the choke and then pull that handle really hard   ;)
Depends on the model.....

I just picked up one at Sears for my sister.  Electric start! Woo Woo!  One thing I always suggest that you start and run your snowblower for a while the day before you're going to need it.

This is an electric one, totally electric, and someone is due here in about 10 minutes and it will get it running before the storm hits!

;D

There are over a dozen of us ex CA people.... and we are all dealing with it nicely.   ;D  (and dealing with no sales or state income tax either!)

Lloyd Danforth

You won't have to deal with stuff melting when you leave it in your car.

We did have that heat wave this past summer and a lady baked cookies on the dashboard of her car.

Some people live in apartments and don't own shovels.

cathleeninnh

Everyone should have a shovel in their car.
