Our first attempt to kick the Feds out of Keene for 2007 will be on Saturday March 31, 2007. We will be amassing our troops outside the Federal Building on Main Street in Keene at 11:30 NHFT (12:15 EDT)

We are still brainstorming, but for the first event we will be gathering on the sidewalk out front and hurling insults at the castle and rattling sabers. :)

People welcome:

Don Quixotes
Sanchos
children in silly looking armor
amused onlookers
mocking mobs
feds ready to quit their jobs
reporters
photographers
scared supporters at extreme distances

you are welcome to bring:
broken lances (from previous failed attacks on giants)
bent-up swords
funny suits of armor
pitchforks
signs
flags
cameras
smiles

In the book Don Quixote never saw the chic, so any costume would do.

I guess I'll return my Dulcinaya  costume.

Lauren was wondering who had rented that and wouldn't return it.

great quote found by pj

"It is easy to see," replied Don Quixote, "that you are not used to this business of adventures. Those are giants, and if you are afraid, away with you out of here and betake yourself to prayer, while I engage them in fierce and unequal combat."

Russell Kanning

I think I will go as Sancho.

I don't know if Shorty Dawkins of The Shire will show up as Don Quixote de la Mancha.

Dave Ridley

we still don't know what you're going to do!   or is that part of the charm....

now off with you while you partake in unequal combat!  seems to be a contagious disease around here...

Russell Kanning

we are going to amass troops along the sidewalk and hurl insults in their general direction

A guy had a really great idea:  at the demonstration we could beat our broken lances into plowshares, then get down to tilling the land there on the IRS property.

C'mon Kat, that's what wikipedia is for ...  ;D

Actually, this article brought back to my mind the great lyrics of Les Miserables

Do you hear the people sing?
Lost in the valley of the night?
It is the music of a people
Who are climbing to the light.
For the wretched of the earth
There is a flame that never dies.
Even the darkest night will end
And the sun will rise.
They will live again in freedom
In the garden of the Lord.
They will walk behind the ploughshare,
They will put away the sword.
The chain will be broken
And all men will have their reward.
