Banned from the FSP

I was banned from the FSP forum by Adam Prick.   :'(

Is it a requirement to be an asshole to be on the FSP BoD, or do you turn into one once you get on the board?
I used to think Adam wasn't that bad. It seemed like that changed as soon as he got on the BoD.

Jason claims my signature was libelous, and I refused to remove it.  My sig. was a quote from a John Barnes email. How can quoting someone be libelous?

"THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND" -John Barnes

I don't check my private messages over there very often (because I don't get any), but I did today, and had one from atr asking me to change my signature. When I went to my profile to change it, I noticed it was already gone, so I made it to "signature removed by forum Nazis". I did not know who removed the signature, so I don't see how that is a personal attack.

This is the email that was sent to Zack Bass, where I got the quote from:

Subject: DO NOT COME TO NH - EVER
Date: Wed, 16 Jun 2004 08:45:13 -0400

What a bunch of jokers.  Have fun on the NHLP's cock, FSP leadershit.

Somehow bringing up the sept. 2006 deadline, and quotes from the FSP leadershit  is fear mongering.
Good luck with trying to hide that, you Slimey Mother Fuckers(directed at FSP leadershits).

Kat Kanning

I'm sorry that happened.  I don't think your sig was bad.  Seth used to complain almost daily that you were a troll and needed to be banned.  Maybe Adam got tired of listening to it.   Dada's current sig is much more incendiary.

Dreepa

That was worth a Karma....... too funny.

Is this the reason why I never joined the LP?

I am buying beer for Dada for his tagline... Should I buy one for you fisher?

I think that the FSP should ban all the forums except for recruiting and NH info.... too much time spent on BS and not enough on recruiting.

Any bets on how long it takes Dada to get banned?

Michael Fisher

Fuck the FSP forums then.  It's too bureaucratic now anyways.  The FSP has too many admins, far too many categories, and WAY too many rules.  I'm surprised they haven't started taxing each post yet.

It's funny how well the NH Underground works as it is, with no rules at all.  The only people who use their administrative privileges around here edit each other's posts as a joke.

I've spoken to the FSP leadership many times about abandoning the 2006 timeline because of its huge negative effect on morale, but it seems like they'd rather spend the year smoking a fat doobie instead of lifting a finger to address such an important problem.

Kat Kanning

Well fisher, you can stay here if you like and tell us what we're doing wrong.  Keeps us on our toes.

I have never understood the big 20,000 person 5 year deal. It kindof made sense for the FSP to have a 5 year timeframe so that it didn't become just another dream project, but I never cared about any deadlines. Once we got to 5,000 people and voted on NH, I just figured we could all just get here when we can and never give up on the goal. I have also thought the FSP should be very loose with the whole Statement of Intent commitment thing. Sometimes the FSP takes itself too seriously.
I also don't get why some people think that fisher/el prezidente is a hopeless troll. I have seen much worse troll behavior. :-\

How can quoting someone be libelous?

If the quote is out of context, and the intent is clearly malicious.

Jason gave me a warning the first week I started posting, because I told someone(vrt?) that "I don't give a fuck what you think", because he said something like 'I don't give two shits about what blah blah thinks'. The funny part is that I copied and pasted what vrt? posted and only changed a few words around. Somehow my post was a personal attack, but his was not.

How do you know that I did not warn the other poster? As a point of fact, I did.

People get banned only for personal attacks, obscenity, and the like. Disagreement has never occasioned and will never occasion banning.

So you believe that dropping the 2006 goal and asking everyone to re-sign up would be the best course of action? Surely you recognize that reasonable people can disagree on whether that is the right thing to do at the moment? At some point this may become necessary, but in the meantime, the important thing is recruiting. I tend to think that abolishing the 2006 goal in 2004 or early 2005 would have been negative for morale.

I don't know whether some FSP leaders have smoked fat doobies recently, but I do know that Jean told me I was the only FSP member to do all of the first three AAA assignments. ;)

Russell Kanning

Did Jason just do a hit and run posting spree or did Kat ban him? >:D

Actually that would be kindof cool. Maybe too much trouble for everyone, but we would know all the members are real and keeping up with things. :)
